The Crusader™ is a Journal dedicated to games and the gamers who play them. Within its pages, lie a plethora of articles that touch upon many of our common interests. Though each issue sports at least one 'crunchy' bit rules article for C&C the magazine's focus is much more broad. The Journal offers articles that range from the common and simple "How To" articles, to advice, fiction, poetry, humor, history, art and more.

The Crusader has been in print for over 5 years. It innitially grew out of our news letter, The Seeker which we published for a number of years in 2000 and 2001. The Seeker contained news items, new products but also gaming tips, interviews, recipes, jokes, as well new magic items and other gaming material. Later we abanoned the Seeker for a straight up and rather humdrum Press Release email platform.

However, with the advent of Castles & Crusades we returned to the Seeker concept, expanding on it and created the Crusader Journal. For a short while we ran it as a monthly venture, but the time and energy it pulled detracted from other products that we wished to produce. We suspended the journal's monthly releases so that now it comes out when we get an issues assembled. For this reason we no longer offer a subscription to the magazine, nor do we announce when the next issues is due out. They come out after they are assembled. The news items presented in the Crusder we transfered to the Troll's Tusk, which we currently publish and offer for free.

This sporadic publication schedule in no way detracts from the value of the journal. Previous issues have included a mountain of interesting articles by a wide spectrum of gamers and game designers. Here's just a sample:

Gary Gygax
Stephen Chenault
James M. Ward
Davis Chenault
Casey Christofferson
Mike Stewart
Mark Sandy
Thom Wham
Christina Stiles

Not to mention all the content: the mountains of new monsters, spells, magic items, even new classes and other material to flesh out your Castles & Crusades game. In league with general gaming articles, movie and book reviews, the angry game, cartoons and on and on.

The Crusader continues as a permanent part of the C&C and TLG experience. As each one is assembled, or falls into place, we'll put the final touches on it and roll it off to press. As soon as its ready it'll come back your way. So until that day comes, pick up a few copies, sit back and enjoy a journal made for you and the games we all play.
