Re: Letting others know the new forum is up?

The form before this one was at freeyabb but it looks like that site is no longer a forum host, it's gone. Archive has a crawl of it from 2014 well after we moved. (The conversion was late 2010 so we are talking 10 years ago now) https://archive.org/details/troll_lord_games_forum-20140127 I also sti...

Re: A question

By the Book says... When making a back attack, a rogue must use a close-quarters melee weapon. This weapon must be shorter than the character’s arm. A rogue can only use this attack on creatures with a discernible back. The rogue must be able to see the target well enough to pick out a vital spot, an...

Yes spell damage hits them. Don;t over think it, magic is magic. When you go down the fireball creates fire, you get into modern physics and chemistry and that is the road to madness in a fantasy game. Keep it simple, is it a spell? then it's magic.

I had a little time today I tried to recreate the colors as best I could using the Prosilver theme. I'm willing to install some other themes as we move also for those who have any favorites. At least it looks more familiar now.

DF and K&K and this are just old forums that got faced with the need to update. Basically they all where running php 5 and phpbb 3.0 all of which is end of life and therefore insecure. I updated to php7 and then did the forum software to the newest version (3.3). Sadly the excellent "style" we had d...

Re: How do you handle multiclass?

I have used the "multi-classes" from Astonishing Swordsmen. I just replace skill checks with C&C Siege Engine checks. I'm not familiar with that? I have the AS&SH 1E boxset but I don't see multi-class (subclass?) would love to hear more. --- As for me I ran Class-and-Half BTB thus far with C&C and ...

Re: Druid - Animate Holy Item / Frog Statue Army - Spell Com

I'd probably allow it, it's a truck load of spells to throw for a single combat advantage. (I mean compare all that to a wizard throwing fireball) I will add I don't have all the spells in my game so they'd also have to be researched and approved -- that just because a TLG book has spells doesn't m...

I agree, it does seem like the days of forums are running down, other social media seems to be easier to manage for companies but with 250K+ posts at 17k+ topics here there is so much interesting info. Half the time when I think of something to ask I search and find a long thread about it already. G...

It's possible that Mr. Martin just looked the other way when it came up. Not sure the names Githyanki and Githzerai can be protected did TSR / FF lift them from a novel. Should be easy to do a C&C version if you leave out the history and just stat them.

Re: Class and a Half XP calculation - Help

So given the level progression of 1/0, 2/1, 3/1, 4/2 etc. how does this work? Let’s say we have a Rogue/Wizard. Would it be half of the supporting class if at the same level as the Main class? So if moving from 1/0 to 2/1, it would be the full amount for Rogue to advance to level 2, and ½ of the am...

Twice in 40 years... Once in the 80's (AD&Dish) another part-time player had a Half-Orc Paladin... "Snort, Snort, Unhand that Madien"... It usually got a laugh at the table. The other was more recent using C&C we I dm'd player with Half-Orc fighter. He was pretty tough for sure.

The conversions and EXTRAS are all in the Monsters for C&C sub-forum, I tried to compile a list below. KaiserKris did extensive work and really you could make a book right out of his stuff. Here are links to my generic conversion on the AD&D.. Angels: http://www.trolllord.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=...

If you sift through the Monsters for C&C sub-forum you'll find lots of Demon / Devil posts. So very high level stuff, the Demon Lord posts are awesome. I'll refrain from linking at this point but look out KaiserKris' posts for sure.

Re: Kickstarter - Digest, etc.

Clarification: From what i understand the C&C Classic Basic White Box Set included with this KS is not a reprint of the earlier C&C White Box; it is it's own thing. That's kinda why I am excited about this KS. I love the original C&C White Box, but it needs a new coat of paint, a bit of expansion (...
