Re: Anyone been to Germany?

You should not encounter problems in the bigger cities.

Perhaps the Zugspitze (or at Wikipedia) would be interesting, too. It's Germany's highest mountain with almost 3000m.

Re: Anyone been to Germany?

Ok, that's quite a lot ;) Try, e.g. for Munich Munich Official City Potal for informations on Munich. There ought to exist similar sites for every city. Eventually you might reconsider going to Frankfurt as I believe it not to be very interesting for tourists. The Financial District is something to ...

Ok, let's try a different approach.

Do you already know where you will be and how long?

FYI, I'm Bavarian and live near Munich.

Re: Anyone been to Germany?

- Not sure about Germany, but in other European countries, expect to pay per drink for everything (and the portion sizes will be smaller). In some places you can get a carafe of water for free or cheap, though. In restaurants you pay everything at the end of your meal. In "Pubs" it depends on the o...

Looks like "AVCKAI" on the left side. The right side, if it is writing at all, is unreadable.

To keep things simple I consider the recovery time fixed. The bonus slots are not too shabby by themselves.

Re: An alternative magic system: Slot Point Magic System

@redwullf: My intention was to enable a spellcaster to recover all his spell slots in a 24h period. So I divided 24h by the number of slot point necessary to open all spell slots and rounded that to a convenient number. For the divine spellcasters I increased the recovery time a bit after that for t...

@Traveller:
Thank you for the hint to MediaFire, I uploaded the PDFs there.

@all:
As mentioned above I tried to formulate some rules for a magic system that gives more freedom to the spellcaster without unbalancing the game.
Please follow this link if you are interested in my attempt

An alternative magic system: Slot Point Magic System

Hi! Because of a discussion about the Mana Point system in the CKG I decided to give it a try and formulate another magic system. - please let me know if something like this approach already exists - please let me know what you think about it, be it good or bad (constructive criticism is prefered :l...

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (1st edition). It was the first RPG I ever played (back in the 80s) and I still love it. Dark and deadly :twisted:

Re: CKG optional rule: Mana Points

Thank you all for your thoughts on this topic. In the meantime I came up with a different idea for a spell system which I would like to share with you.
I tried to upload it here, as a PDF-file, but was denied. Unfortunately Fiffergrund did't answer me on this yet. Are uploads of PDFs not wanted?

Re: CKG optional rule: Mana Points

I agree that it would not be very wise to spend all mana points in one go for maximum firepower. Nevertheless I know a lot of players who are a bit trigger-happy and would spend even the remaining mana points for magic missiles :roll: I also agree that things would get slowed down a lot if the spell...

CKG optional rule: Mana Points

Hi! I was just reading the optional (unofficial) rules for mana points in the CKG (page 48-49) and one of the last sentences in the description made me think. It was: This method of spellcasting changes the dynamic of play, but not in a significant manner. I crunched some numbers... A 5th level wiza...

Re: Do you use minis and/or a battle mat?

I have a battlemat as backup. Sometimes the players can't imagine clearly what I describe, e.g. exact positions of enemies. At such times I pull out the mat and draw a quick overview, sometimes using minis if they are in reach...
