Re: FREE AA Character Class: The Demon Hunter!
Putting together a custom class section would pretty much knock out all of my other RPGs out of the park in making AA my modern/SF/Pulp go to system.

Re: Can Monsters & Treasures be used for AA?
AA was designed to be cross compatible and monsters are probably zero effort. NPC might need review because AA AC is done via costume as compared to actual.armor worn.

SMGs and Sorcerery: The Day After Ragnarok
Little Boy didn't go to Hiroshima, it went through the 500 yard-wide eye of the Midgard Serpent. The death throes of its interdimensional body smashed cities and armies as it spewed out supernatural blood that was now radioactive. That warped continents, men and animals. And no longer able to deny t...

Any difference? Old AA vs Kickstarted AA?
I still have my old AA book that came out before the kickstarter. Is there any real difference between the two print runs?

I don't have my book with me, but what's the name of the PC creation rule where you get a bonus and a drawback. Is it Background?
Anyway, with that positive/negative aspect in mind, could you put a spin on it for Fetishes? It would be something for higher levels I suppose.

Re: Does, or does not, AA need a Meta setting?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that meta-setting is a series of modules that reveal parts of a world which characters play in. In other words railroading characters, through a world, rather than a sandbox, fully fleshed out world. Kind'a trying to be the best of both worlds. Or, at least...

Re: Love to see "Amazing Adventures in Space"
Planetary romance and retro future would be very interesting sub-genres to tackle, actually. Before AA came out, I did a wonderful one shot using C&C and it was a blast. I still get requests to continue it to this day. Just as as a side note, here was the supporting material I used. Slavelords ...

Re: [Amazing Adventures] Suggestions for Class and a Half?
Opps! I meant Class and Half for AA, not C&C in general.
So perhaps you should only have the Rogue style PC (can't remember the name) should only support a Wisdom and Charisma based Arcanist.
And Pugilists can't multiclass with anything.

Re: Does, or does not, AA need a Meta setting?
I totally forgot the "default" literary pulp meta-setting ... HP Lovecraft. :). And my definition of a meta-setting is something that provides an overarching theme and background events that can be easily ignored for your own game. A mundane version of a meta-setting would be WW I. The war...

The sweeter part of that deal is that Rogues level up the fastest. They'll have an extra +1 or +2 compared to their slower advancing counterparts.

Using a Damage Save instead of AC?
I'm tempted to run AA in a new way, keeping the players more involved and keep the numbers low. One example would be to do the "Getting Rid of the Spread Option." Another way would be to have players roll a "Damage Save" instead of having the GM roll a monster's attack roll. The ...

Does, or does not, AA need a Meta setting?
This is more of a question than a suggestion. Some of the more popular Pulpish settings had an overarching reason why the heroes exist. In Spirit of the Century, you are manifestation of what that century means. All PC were born on the eve of the 20th century and can expect to naturally live 100 yea...

Re: Love to see "Amazing Adventures in Space"
AA could address a middle ground. Star Siege seemed to be more of a space opera/Traveller vibe.
Under AA pulp mandate, you could have it tackle from John Carter of Mars (Planetary Romance) up to Buck Rodgers (Retro Future). Sure SS could do those too, but that didn't seem to be the same market.

Re: Amazing Adventures: Differentiating Pulp, Modern, & Fant
It would be cool to have AA go full circle with an article on how to go old school Sword and Sorcery with AA. If you needed expand the story, you could go into the pulpish Weird Age stuff of Michael Moorecock. That will let you include Gadgeteers as well. A side note: While reading about Dragon Line...

Notice I didn't say campaign settings ... These are idea of what throws your heroes together every week, but still fairly open ended as to the mood and adventures you can play. At Base Camp: The crew is committed to exploring a location with no real maps. A lost valley, an ancient city or the Hollow...

http://www.wizards.com/DnD/Article.aspx?x=dnd/4ll/20120116 If that's true, it might be so heavily modded that it doesn't count at 4e anymore. Which reminds me of games like Mutants and Masterminds or True20. Games so tweaked they were barely "d20." Yet people would give them a chance compa...

Wow. Latest tidbit. They're aiming for a game that literally brings any edition to the table. Second—and this sounds so crazy that you probably won't believe it right now—we're designing the game so that not every player has to choose from the same set of options. In the long view on SIEGE checks, Roguish PC climb levels higher. By third or fourth level, they will start do better than non-thief types and by 5th level outshine the amateurs. My own house rule is that the class in question has to be in the party. For example, life goes easier in the party when t...
