I like skills outside of class abilities to see if you can cook, light a fire in the woods, tie flies and fish, etc. details to your PC archetype.

Many items need to be review one at a time with a check list. its not uncommon to find, no range on a spell, or an odd unit to area of effect, no clear save. a team of players and DMs going through each item and each spell in combat or correct use to see if its all there.

Isn't there a whole system for this in SEIGE engine in the Amazing Adventures stuff? That should port in easily. I never liked psionics because its so darn hard to spel. key is allowing the thief to get his due do not force them to be alone or rounds and no chance to do things. they have to do cool stuff in combat not just up front quiet alone outside of combat
