Thanks, man. I need to stop taking stupid pills in the evening.

Re: Digital Sale
Thanks. I'm still confused, though, because the options I see are Print, and Print and Digital. I don't see Digital by itself.

Digital Sale
I received a wonderful email the other day saying that Troll Lord was running a 30% sale on digital versions of various products. I'd been wanting to get digital copies of Amazing Adventures and its related books for ages. But when I visit the site, it is NOT POSSIBLE to by the digital copies unless...

Podcast Shout Out
I hate listening to myself on podcasts or I might have pointed this out sooner. I forgot that when i went on a podcast to talk about my books and Tales From the Magician's Skull that during the last few minutes of the interview I sang the praises of Castles & Crusades. Interested parties can lis...

Re: Notes to myself...
"Rules really belong in the back ground, the story is what needs to be up front. Whether that is the story of the CK, or of the players, is for each group to decide." Well said. I've been the primary GM for decades, but it still took me too long to realize that if I didn't know the rule I ...

Re: C&C for New Schoolers
I'm a big fan of Sine Nomine. Kevin Crawford puts amazing products together. Unfortunately, I'm away from home so I can't refer to the direct page, but somewhere near the front in Scarlet Heroes it says that yes, two players can be used in the system without having to change anything about the way i...

Re: Notes to myself...
Lots of great stuff here. During character creation now I play much faster and looser with the rules than I ever used to. Maybe it's because we're all middle-aged, but I don't worry about munkinizing or what have you. As long as things are mostly balanced, I'm okay with it. I had someone wanting to ...

"C" Modules
I've been re-reading the C modules (1 through 5) and they're just as enjoyable the second time around -- I'm already incorporating many of the encounters into planned adventures. I love the "feel" of every one of them.
How soon before we see C6? I'm very curious to meet the Green Wizard!

Ah, nice to see someone else had the same issues. It amazes me that I've been game mastering since junior high (the primary GM for whatever group I'm in) and am 48 now... but I'm STILL learning new things and STILL learning how to be a a better GM, CK, DM, what have you. There's this scale business....

That whole hide/armor class thing has been a head scratcher for me. My wife has been playing a lizard woman, and I initially gave her a +2 AC because of the scaled hide. but because she was picturing a swift lizard, she took a high dex and prime... I won't bore with more details, but her AC climbed ...

Re: Listen checks
I've long since added a seventh Perception stat for listening, looking, and even sixth sense kind of stuff. I toyed with adding Luck as a stat but we've been using Hero Points for years. Was tempted to try adding a Willpower stat as well, but figure it can either be a character trait or advantage or...

Cool series of posts. Slaughto may want to go fight the dragon because he may feel like there's a lot going on. Sometimes when my plots get really involved my players can't keep track of it all, or are more excited by one possible thread than the others. You could let some possible plot threads die ...

Thanks. I try to think of them as "guest stars" for the weekly installment. Sometimes they're a recurring guest star, sometimes they're just a one-shot. I've found if I give the players more than one or two NPCs to interact with at a single time it gets overwhelming for them to keep track ...

Thanks, Rhu.
It was a short one -- only about 2.5 hours. These days it seems like 3-4 hours is the maximum length of what we play, and of course it was made a little shorter because there were only 2 players.

Re: Mal's CnC-ified Campaign
I had a lot of fun reading your write-up, and your ramblings. If your looking for naval rules, Privateers and Gentleman from Fantasy Games Unlimited always had rules that made sense to me and ought to port over fairly easily. You can get the old set via RPGNow pretty cheap. If you're talking campaig...

Winter Woods Campaign
I’m rebooting a campaign I ran several years ago. I’d originally set it in and around The Lost City of Barakus, which I was steadily converting on the fly from 3.5 to run with C&C. I love the player characters but feel like we’ve explored the setting pretty thoroughly, so I’m moving the campaign...

Re: What do you consider are the essential C&C modules?
I picked up a huge swathe of them in the last couple of days, what with the .99 cents sale on site and then the 1.99 sale over at RPGNow. I'm immensely impressed with all of them so far. They're just dripping with atmosphere. Even if I won't use them exactly as written, I'm totally nabbing a whole b...

Re: Castles & Crusades What's Next
I love the SW Plot Point campaigns. And 50 Fathoms is a great example of one. I'd also love to see more adventures in the old Traveller format, where a problem is presented by a client (or situation) and then several possibilities are presented for how things unfold. A thumbnail sketch of an adventu...

Thanks for the info, Treebore. And thanks likewise for your opinion. Since it looks like it will STILL be several weeks before we get to playing, I ...

I haven't been much of a module guy for years since my group generally responds better to home-brewed stuff, but between the Troll Lord one-day sale and the current 24 hour Troll Lord sale at RPGNow I've picked up quite a lot of nifty looking modules... and have been very impressed. I particularly l...

It may be a little late to add my 2 cents, but I guess I'll do it anyway. I'm a long time fan but only recently took to posting on the forum. Of all these discussed products, I'm most curious about the Adventurer's Backpack. I must be in the minority, but I've never been interested in demons or devi...

Treebore's Mass Combat Dominance
Hello all -- I've been CKing C&C off and on for several years but I don't think I've ever posted. As I ready to restart our campaign (after a Savage Worlds of Solomon Kane hiatus) I've been searching through threads here on the forum and discovered an older one about improving Fighters. I quite ...
