Re: Rhiannon's Monday night Ne'er-do-well Fantastical Victor

Think South Carolina Low Country for the weather, except with slightly harsher winters. Basically you can expect snow once or twice a year but no long term freezes, and the summers are just as humid as the New Orleans summers. So you are pretty dead on.

Re: Rhiannon's Monday night Ne'er-do-well Fantastical Victor

There are going to be some of you that will have been in Tremaine for some time before the game starts. It could be because you have been dutifully scouting for an organization you work for, or you landed here with a boat a few weeks ago, or perhaps you were born here, but it is up to. For those who...

Re: Rhiannon's Monday night Ne'er-do-well Fantastical Victor

The map is oriented oddly unfortunately (I though I had re-oriented it). For purposes of following my directions make sure to note that the riverbank opposite of tremaine is in the intended south east corner of the map. Or basically, just rotate it 90 degrees to the left to orient it properly.

Re: Rhiannon's Monday night Ne'er-do-well Fantastical Victor

This is a mostly finished map for the city of Tremaine, I might add some additional details to the dock area (right now it's basically just there to note it exists at the moment). But beyond that it's is pretty functional. None of the swamps surrounding the forest are really visible in this one sinc...

Re: Rhiannon's Monday night Ne'er-do-well Fantastical Victor

I can't believe I didn't think to ask about this earlier. I'm letting my paladin roots slip apparently. What religion / mythos is in the world? Is it Greco-Roman, is it Celt, Germanic, standard fantasy, home brew, or a mix ? It's a mix, geography plays a large part in what gods a person grew up wor...

Reminds me of New Orleans. Very cool. R- Rgr that Nice !!!!! Now, how will a witch hunter, who is poor and focused on killing EVIL magic users (which necromancers who would use the undead to swindle or threaten their enemies with will be considered) witches and the like, fit in a society that openl...

Re: Rhiannon's Monday night Ne'er-do-well Fantastical Victor

Here is the basic map of where you guys will be starting. Hopefully I'll be able to improve it, or maybe give you guys better closeups of the city (this is just predominantly for layout of the initial adventuring area). Plus the key isn't labelled yet, I'll be changing that as soon as I actually hav...

My father is planning to run as long as Mike can make it. If not he is fine with Chuck running. If Chuck would prefer not to run, I can always get us started with Fantasy Victorious if needed.

My father will not be running his Victorious game tonight, so I will be available to help with character creation for those who want the input. This means that those who want to play Chucks game (if he runs tonight) may do so, and those that are not part of his game have something else to do if they...

Re: Rhiannon's Monday night Ne'er-do-well Fantastical Victor

Are the rules extensions/modifications written anywhere? I am running two other adjustments; I am making power fatigue run a little diff...

Re: Rhiannon's Monday night Ne'er-do-well Fantastical Victor

Are we using archetypes from the core rules, or creating our own? I encourage you to create your own! With Victorious you can focus on achieving your preferred flavor for an archetype you enjoy rather than the archetype itself. For instance you could create a caster that is like Gandalf- where you ...

You are all 2nd level now (even if you weren’t in the game). The Hunter got a Victory point, and you all vote on who else should get a 2nd. I vote Gabe, he's the one who dragged the guy we saved to safety. It takes guts to trust your team mates to cover your butt sometimes, especially when you are ...

Re: Long term use & effect of target and mesmerism

I have had PC's seek the help of mesmerism using NPC's to negate (gained through play) Drawbacks before. They dedicated several sessions of background time and a fair amount of role play into the exchange, sometimes a fair amount of money as well. The example that stands out the most to me is of a P...

Re: Inspiration for character names , Where do you get yours

Sometimes I have them be pop culture references, sometimes I make them obscure, sometimes direct. Other times I think of the values I want the character to hold precious to them and make anagrams or elaborations on the words for a name. Sometimes I look up the word in a different language and then u...

"They're in." I turned my head toward Jeremy, his carefully low voice drawing me out of my reverie. Ring of Improved Invisibility with a magical Sap that had a Greater Sleep on it. Rhian No problem you making the side kick. It is a big help. However, dial back the martial arts and acrobat. As a side kick he needs to be competent but not a force to be reckoned with himself . I can see a justification for him as a 1st level side kick having 1 rank in them . Citric acid ... his ...
