Knights Quest
Hey folks. Who likes card games? I've actually been involved in a project, outside of TLG, that is a quick and simple card game called Knights Quest. Its aimed at families playing with their kids. Check it out if it would be of interest? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kenwhitman/knights-quest-f...

Elmore Art Book
My friend, and most recent art instructor, Larry Elmore is putting out this rather awesome 300+ page art book. Representing 40 odd years of his work. Its worth a look in considering some of the kickstarter benefits. There are 4 days to go on this project, and its met its goal and then some. But ther...

Re: Aufstrag Levels Discussion
The largest problem is the maps. Each level has multi-levels and I'm not sure how to do that. Peter assures me it can be done. I asked my son to make me a mindcraft version of Aufstrag but he told me it wouldn't go that high. Steve Ya, its not impossible, what Steve wants. Its just complex....

Re: Game of Thrones Books
Far as Game of Thrones goes, I can't get through either books or HBO series without being completely bored. And this is from a person that typically enjoys long and complex fantasy series. Obviously, I am not with the majority on this one. But then again, I rarely find myself with the majority on an...

Re: Players Handbook Corrections and Additions
I'd like to note here that many of Trav's comments in the edits of this book have me in absolute stitches. "The weapons need a diet" What can I say? The dry approach to proofreading/editing just wasn't working for me. Though as the deadline was approaching I had to get a bit m...

I've also trained in saber, both mounted and dismounted, for the last 3 decades, and its really not that different. Combat is different than what you trained for... Not really, since my current instructor is teaching us the practicals, and the underlying mechanics, of combat. Deflecting a lance/spe...

Re: Weapon Specialization - How Narrow?
The only real functional differences in what we are learning is that the larger swords are used with two hands. The basic sword stances, blocks and thrusts are essentially the same though. Incorrect. I was the regional champ with Saber. Even a saber is VASTLY different from a rapier in usage and te...

Re: Weapon Specialization - How Narrow?
A two handed sword is totally different than a rapier for instance... Just to interject a bit of practical know how. I've been taking sword instruction in a style called Fiore dei Liberi which starts with fencing and rapier weapons and movies into bastard and two handed swords. The only real functi...

I'll have to double check with Steve on this, but I think pdf purchasers get updated pdfs for new printings. I'm pretty sure pdf's buyers get updates for something or other. Fyi, Its a minor point, but C&C has had only one edition.

Re: Elmore's Women
Actually, in one of his older art books, he explains this. At one time, Larry had this weird urge stuck in his head that he needed to do the eyes bigger on his women folk. Easley, Caldwell and Parkinson kept poking fun at him for it, because they knew it looked wrong. But Larry insisted it was right...

Re: Color interiors for phb 5th printing?
Stephen C. recently mentioned the possibility of color interiors for the upcoming 5th printing of the C&C phb. Sounds like most or all of the artwork on the inside will be the same, except with color. I assume there might be the possibility of color backgrounds, etc.? What do you think? I assum...

Just, yeah, it's a place to hunt orcs, kill the monsters and take their stuff. That's why I like Munchkin ...

Re: Defense of The Defense of The Chick Tract
William Schnoebelen. Gotta hand it to the guy, he makes a lengthy, well-referenced, reasoned argument against fantasy role playing. It is my opinion that his argument completely unravels on 1 key point (in fact, on the very heart of his argument). Your thoughts? Sorry, the logic and reason centers ...

Re: What do you hope for with a 5th printing PHB?
Just a little technical FYI as far as layout goes. Expanding any hard back book needs to be done in 16 page increments due to how its printed. Which, in turn, increases costs of printing depending on where it falls within a certain set of page ranges. Far as adding anything, there just isn't a whole...

Enough people had the same recurring problems with the barbarian rage that it was given a second look. Pretty much what it boiled down too. It was the most consistent, and pervasive, issue talked about for a long while.

Somewhat germane to the discussion, both Davis and Steve spent some time in the military, largely stationed in Germany. It had something of an influence on Airhde, obviously.

You really shouldn't need to do a lot to convert any classic module to run with C&C. Its a tough adventure in AD&D itself, should'nt be any different in C&C.

So some folks might have noticed a web show called Brothers Barbarian that I posted about a while back. Well, now they are working on a season two and have a kickstarter promo for it. If you enjoy the show, might think about chipping in for the next story arc. If naught else, there is a level or two...
