Goodman Games gives a shout-out to TLG
Goodman Games newest release (the Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG) gives a shout-out to the troll lords in two places. 1) In the monsters section is a truly hilarious parody monster called the troll lord. 2) Under reccommended reading, they list the (sadly out-of-print) TLG "Book of Names" as a...

Interesting demonstration of what it is like to try fighting while wearing full plate mail. (Might inform your gaming a bit)

Re: Woo-hoo!
The PDF I bought is titled "CKG_03.03.05". Since it didn't come out in 2005, I am going to assume that this means it is the third version of the PDF. I might be wrong. The first part of the book has the most crunch in it, IMO.

CKG (alternate magic systems)
After reading through the CKG for the first time today, I am ditching the Vancian magic rules. I am going with the alternate Mana Points system on Pg. 48. Vancian magic never did make sense to me. After you spend all that time studying your spellbook, how could the information just vanish out of you...

Re: Evil clerics vs paladins
Coolness factor aside, why play the only class which can be turned by an evil cleric. You can have all the power in the world, and it won't do you any good if you can't make use of it.

Evil clerics vs paladins
I did a search for this topic, and nothing came back. (Excuse me if it has been asked before.)
If evil clerics can turn paladins, why would anybody play a paladin? A muticlass fighter/cleric would have more abilities, fewer alignment problems, and couldn't be turned.

I hate pretentious people.
Reading up on Dionysus today, and the author listed his holy symbol as the Thyrsus. Now, I'm no slouch in the vocabulary department, but even I had to look this one up.
WTH didn't he just say "A staff with a pine cone on top of it"?

Where can I purchase these miniature trolls of which you speak? :p
I got on Tullis about this too. Fat Dragon games posted that they were having a miniature terrain sale. I felt obliged to point out that the terrain was, in fact, normal size.

This is a replacement for the old forums "Shoutbox" feature. Feel free to let your mind wander. Just be careful....it's far too small to be out on its' own.

Re: Currently Read RPG Books / Resources
Right now, I'm reading Pathfinder Bestiary 2. I cringed when I saw the Dhampyr (half-vampire). The first person who requests a Mwangi/Dhampyr Ranger with undead as a favored enemy is getting pimp-slapped. (Blade) The second pimp-slap is reserved for the person who requests a sylph sorceress w...

Re: MERP- Why so hard to get & expensive?
MERP has been out of print since the mid-90's. "He who must not be named" yanked the license from ICE when they declared bankruptcy. The company re-formed, but the other party would not re-issue the license.
