Re: How do you handle multiclass?
I've done a few things at different times. I also allow humans to use the rules from AD&D for a character with two classes. Though I don't limit to two classes, but rather to just what attributes are primary. I have also converted the AD&D Bard, two flavors existed, one, the Bard, based on F...

Re: Arcane Magic Battle
The ABP method sounds like it can be cool. Another thought would be to model something off of AD&D's (original) psionics, doing away with the abilities, but focusing on and expanding attack and defense modes. You could eliminate the actual tables for effects from the attack/defense if you wanted...

Re: Half-orcs: How often do have you seen them used as PCs?
I have played 1/2 Orcs on a number of occasions in AD&D. A straight Cleric was fun, we had our own level limit rules that imposed penalties of 70+Level to be attained% XP penalty to XP after the PHB max level limit was reached, was a lot of fun. A straight up Fighter, he was cool, but I liked th...

Re: Wizards, Fighters, and Balance
One factor that helps keep the spell casters in check, is one that I always see people wanting to ignore... Material Components. I get that it takes some book keeping to do this, but, it is actually an important thing to do to keep their power in check, and drain gold from the characters. Abstractin...

I have been using Roll20 since 2013 and love it. There is a basic character sheet that can be used, but that is pretty much it for support. I have a Pro account to get full access to the API and other advanced functionality. API - A programming interface where you can build all kinds of functions, o...

Class and a Half
Hrmm, wondering if I have been doing this wrong this whole time... For Class and a Half, the XP requirements, do you take 1/2 the XP to reach the next level of the 1/2 class, or 1/2 the XP of the class at the level of the character, for example - When advancing to level 2 as a F(1/2 Wiz) you need 2,...

One of the great things about going through the crates and pulling stuff up to my loft was finding some old gems. Re: non-Vancian magic
I think my favorite non-vancian magic system to date has to be the magic rules from 5E D&D. Table: The Wizard shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expend...

Oh and to be clear, this is not their destination, but a possible side jaunt.
If I can't find any other info, I might just modify Bluffside or Eskadia and use one of those for this.

It is SW of the Darkenfold, a little SW of the Guarded Hills. I'm not sure where else it can be seen on the maps, but it is there on the map of the Darkenfold region that comes with the Darkenfold Expansion.Rhuvein wrote:Interesting . . haven't heard of this city/town. Where is it mentioned?

If you can find the old TSR supplement Slavers by Sean Reynolds, it has a write up of Highport in it, and there is some information in the old A1-4 Scourge of the Slave Lords supermodule, not to be confused with A0-4 Against the Slave Lords which is a new intro module and the original A1-4 modules. ...

Just wondering, size, population, economy, anything really? They are going to be exiting the eastern Guarded Hills, their ultimate destination is...
