Re: How do you Evade?
As I play it, Evade is a step up from Dodge and all that holds true for Dodge holds true for Evade excepting the AC bonus and the number of opponents. So, when evading, a character can not attack, cast spells, use an item, or really do much of anything except fend off that flurry of blows. I often a...

Re: No More "Normal" Magic Items
I agree, all magic weapons such should be unique and have histories and unique powers. And they should be rare.

Discouraged? Not really discouraged so much as, a bit miffed. In my younger days something would have broke. I have aged and tired, so I just scratched my beard and decided to buy a new hat. It has finalized a decision about a potential product line that had been floating about the office for a mont...

Re: City Adventures
Its been ages since I have been part of a pure city adventure. AGES. I think it would be fun to run an adventure set entirely in a city. A thieves world type place. I would actually play a roguish character in such a situation. or maybe even an assassin. That's it, a halfling assassin. Dodo Killfeet.

Re: Any interest in Sword and Sorcery type rules for CnC
all right, long post short. No fire and forget spells. You learn a spell, you know it. Casting has many limiting factors, components (materials, sacrifices, etc)timing (full moon, star alignment, etc),And capacity to cast. I am thinking of mana cost or HP cost or soemthing like that. Another thing, ...

In the current model, the pcs start about 30percent better off stat and hip wise than a normal person. They also have significantly better skills. Using a bell curve die roll (2d19) creates some Intersting math on bonuses. a pc with a +1 to hit ihas a much better than five percent chance increase th...

Any interest in Sword and Sorcery type rules for CnC
So I have been dickering about a great deal over the past year on my home rules for Inzae. Its quite a revamp of CnC (classless, levelless, 2d10 as base roll etc) but still uses the basic philosophy and engine. So, we've tested the variants a few times (certainly not thouroghly at this point) and se...

I am glad you liked them. at first, I was very dubious about the screens and was not a little reluctant to go forward. but we did. Once I held the finished product in my hand, I really started to groove on them. I liked the feel, the layout, the unobtrusive nature of them etc. I am going to speak to...

1. That way works fine. I like opposed rolls but rarely use them as the game moves faster without them. If I could figure out a way to do it quickly and secretly I would probably adopt them. I do occasionally use them. Considering that. I think I would have just had the Saber-tooth roll his stealth ...

Re: Class Racail Bonuses
Its open to several interpretations so apply as one desires. From my perspective, the 1/2 orc has to 'learn' how to use his smell again to track. It might be able to smell better and whiff out unusual oders, but to pick up a scent and gets its direction and nature is entirely different. Further, I d...

Re: Class Racail Bonuses
The 1/2 orc derives his extra tracking skill from its sense of smell. Orcs can smell really well and half orcs get this bonus to tracking checks. So, i think the rules, by the book, imply that the 1/2 orc ranger gets this bonus and non other class can. So here are the two interpretations or variatio...

LOL I was talking to a lady the other day and we were bantering about the cost of stuff and, well, complaining. see my blog for a poor response or There are two rules addressing using armor for damage reduction in the CnC CKG. In both, the standard armor class rating is dropped to 10 (plus dexterity bonus and other miscellany) for all creatures. Armor no longer adds to one’s armor class. So what does one do a...

My take on Kim's take You are an uninterested bystander who is not performing their civic duty. Seconds later, you see the meaty, sweaty, jiggling baker charge out the ...
