World of Phantasie Art

Using this thread to show off some art I've been working on for the World of Phantasie Core Book. Comments are always welcome! Tambrien uses Stone to Flesh to return his archer companion to life after she fell victim to a Gul'kani Coven Lord. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss78/argoforg/BackToLi...

Book of Familiars Chart Errata?

Just a quick note-- first off, I really like this book! It will most definitely become a regular addition around our table! There is at least one small issue that I would like help in correcting, if possible. In the Ranger's Familiar chapter, for both the Standard and Supreme Familiar charts, the ta...

Re: How do you locate adventures?

I don't specifically play open-style sandbox-- there usually is an overarching plot to my games, and although I don't 'force' the plot, and allow the characters to go where they will, there are consequences if they let the main plot slide for too long... after all, while they're wandering along, fin...

Re: GenCon 2014

Had a blast, like usual! I enjoyed a great game of C&C on day 1 with Todd as CK (and found out, yeesh, don't let my wife do the interrogating of the wounded guards!) and that made my con... I hardly ever get to just PLAY C&C, so this was a huge win for me. Played and bought Kobolds Ate My Baby, and ...

New C&C Campaign, Indianapolis IN Area

Hey, all! Fresh off the fun at Gen Con, my wife and I are considering opening our house for a once-a-month game (ongoing campaign) in the southeastern Indianapolis, Indiana, area, so we are looking to gauge interest from local (and semi-local, willing to make the trip) sorts. We would be looking to ...

I feel like I ran into that very same feel on the Paizo boards. Don't get me wrong... on both boards I am sure there are a great number of fun, enjoyable and honestly helpful posters. But there are so many types that tie themselves so tightly to the 'rightness' of their own opinions and their interp...

Re: SIEGE Check: What's the Downside?

I know that I-- and a few others besides me-- started out the game so tied to 3.5/PF that SIEGE checks seemed to be the answer to every action. It took a while for me to break myself of that mindset, and now, I tend to use it a lot more sparingly, a lot more in tune with the spirit of how the SIEGE ...

Re: D&D 5th Edition Discussion

I will probably be checking out 5E at Gen Con, just to see if it flies for me. It's definitely not going to replace C&C as my game of choice, but I admit that the idea of some form of 'back compatibility' has me intrigued. So far the art hasn't been a major detraction for me, but I haven't really lo...

It's the hometown con, so you know I'm in! I'll be doing as much as I can to spend a lot of my off-gaming time around the TLG booth just to talk shop and enjoy the camaraderie. And once the paycheck drops, I will probably end up spending way too much. Cause this is Christmas for me. XD

Stuff I'd Buy if TLG Made It...

5E.

Let me echo the Spell Compendiums for Priests and Wizards. That would rock.

And darned near any supplements. I just pretty much like the C&C banner, all told.

Re: C&C Modules Written for C&C

Sloooooowwwly, Darker Age Press is working on adventures, too. Although they are going to be set in World of Phantasie, they should be portable to any homebrew world or the like. And the general plan right now is to definitely have those adventures set for C&C.

Re: World of Phantasie Map & Campaign Project

Any relation to the computer rpg of the same name circa 1985? The old SSI game? Sadly, despite the name, no. I wish I could say that it's even influenced by the SSI game, but I was never lucky enough to own it (or the sequel(s?)) for it to have an influence on me, positive or negative. I was very a...

Been doing a lot of The Offspring lately (it gets me through work) and run a random rotation of Rock, Punk, 90's Alternative and Classical/Orchestral Soundtrack/Ambient on my mp3 player, sometimes skipping around if a particular mood strikes. If I'm writing or arting, a lot of times I'll just do a r...

Re: World of Phantasie Map & Campaign Project

Ahhhh, okay! Yeah, the large version isn't necessarily the most you can zoom in, but it is the most you can on Photobucket. I'll have to take a looksee and see what sort of viewer she uses to allow for that kind of navigation, because it's waycool! On a side note, that is some ridiculously phenomena...

Re: Why C&C Should Be Your Go-To D&D

C&C is the game I go to because it reminds me most of the games I used to play, when I could spend hours working on story and narrative and not on math/stat blocks/challenge levels/how do I offset this character's superhuman powers. It's streamlined, it's easy to learn, easy to create a character in...

Re: Free D&D 5th ed PDF

I was excited to hear at first that 5E was going to be much more of a nod to the old school games. Not that I was going to give up C&C, which is my game of choice, but I liked the idea of having one of the 'big two' making much more of a nod toward an easier, less crunch-centric game. There is some ...

Re: Ability checks - How often to you call for them?

Kinda depends. When I was regularly running I might have had the players do it fairly often, but when I started playing C&C with my former group, we were all 3.X refugees and the SIEGE checks largely took the place of our usual perception and skill checks, so almost every major action required a rol...

Re: Gen Con Event Registration

Sad to say that I didn't opt to run my own games this year because (with an 18 month old who gets into everything ) I didn't feel like I will have the time to do the prepwork I'd usually have for a con game. The times I've run at GC in years past have been a mixed bag. Two years ago I ran three game...

Re: GenCon 2014 Off Grid Games----you in?

If I run anything, (unless the Trolls plan on something, the way they did with Giant's Rapture last year), it will most likely be off the grid, but I'm always game for either playing or CKing a good game of C&C at Gen Con.

Thanks, Rigon! I've gone ahead and updated it-- except for some place names, legends and minor tweaks here and there, I'm pretty much done with it, I think! The original on my computer is gawdawful huge, like 7500 pixels on the wide side. Great for printing and detail, but the place names might be e...
