Re: Go vote for TLG for fans favorite publisher on The Ennie

Voted already. Not that the ENnies mean much anymore. That forum is a pale imitation of what it once was. I remember when posts could fall off the front page or two during the day. Now they linger for a few days. I guess the edition split also split some forums. Also, I saw a moderator call out some...

Re: Attribute increases

Don't be afraid to go by the book. Give it a shot and see how it works out. These sorts of rules are what made "the world's most popular fantasy roleplaying game" the world's most popular roleplaying game. There must be something to them, right? :)

Re: Chat Tonight

I was able to be there. I picked the brains of Aergraith and Moriarty since C&C is new to me. Had a great time, guys. Thanks!

Will this start a new letter series? (like A1-A10, U1, , etc.)?

Re: Wanted: Stormbringer

Moriarty, would you please mind running down the compilations you found? My local book store is more into modern fantasy and I have only read the very First Elric book, though I would love to read more. Looking on Wikipedia is downright confusing, though I suspect I want the internal chronology. Ama...

Re: Players Handbook Corrections and Additions

And, Traveller, no offense intended, but I don't think that you can reasonably say "no one complained," about how classes were laid out in the AD&D PHB. None taken. However, I can only go by what I've experienced, and that experience is that no one complained about that aspect of AD&D. To be fair, ...

Re: "90% of everything is crud."

I've bought some real stinkers, like 4th edition D&D, over the years, but nothing compared to my d20 glut. I was purchasing things left and right. Some of them were great, but 90% stunk. I kept all of my Scarred Lands campaign setting stuff in the hope that someday I'll run the campaign in another r...

Re: What gaming stuff are you reading?

We had a houseful of kids last night, and even though I have a C&C PHB in the mail, I went ahead and bought the Kindle edition so I could hide in my room and drown out the noise of 5 kids on the other side of the wall. Love what I have read so far and I look forward to converting my campaign to C&C,...

Re: True Names?

Thanks to all for the resources and encouragement. I do have the d20 Black Company RPG supplement as well, but it's in storage. I should get it out and see what it says as well. Again, thanks for the warm welcome and giving me some starting points!

True Names?

I won't be getting my rulebooks for a little bit longer (I believe the bundle might have been held up while Of Gods and Monsters was on backorder) so I was curious about the concept of true names in C&C. First, is there already some existing information about true names in C&C? Second, if not, how w...

I'll likely get a set for the logo and to support C&C. I am just pleased as punch to have discovered this system and am thrilled with the prospect of introducing it to more folks here locally.

Re: Q/A With the Trolls

Let's put it this way: My 7-year old grandson had NO difficulty grasping the Siege Injun, and - with no rulebook or anything - wrote a one-level dungeon adventure and ran me through it the following week after having been introduced to the concept of role playing without a television or a console. ...

Re: Q/A With the Trolls

I am completely new to C&C, but very excited from what I have been able to see so far. In light of that, I really want to support it. I assume purchasing direct from TLG is the most profitable way to show said support as it cuts out the middle man, but I wanted to make sure before I placed an order....

Re: Other Third Party Properties you'd like to see for C&C

First post to say I would drop my homebrew setting in favor of Scarred Lands in a heartbeat. That was absolutely my favorite setting of all time and when I sold off most of 3rd party 3rd ed. stuff, I kept everything I had dealing with Scarred Lands.
