Re: TSR HR Series VS TLG Codex Series

The 'Codex Deliverance' would come with the new character classes of Noodler, Banjo Master, Hog-Wrangler, and Necrophiliac. The monsters would have zombies, inbred hillbillies, probing aliens, carnivorous cattle and sheep, and demonic KKK. The mini adventure would start out with an innocent hunting ...

Re: Codex Celtarum pronunciation guide?

Originally I had meant to have a pronunciation guide in the Codex but that never came to be, it may in the Second Edition in the future however, or near future as a PDF file so never fear! I know the various Celtic words are a bit frightful at first, but they DO make sense after their 'puzzle' is cr...

Re: The Trolls are doing a second edit of the Codex...

The misspelling on Thor is not in fact but the correct phoneme in Norse for the 'th' sound is what I use in the book. For some reason the font used in the layout process made it appear as a 'P' when it wasn't. Gaelic wasn't used by the way, that is a Celtic language (of which I am fluent) and to fin...

Random question for Brian: any info on Vili and Ve in the book? other than, they helped slay Ymir and wre odin's brohters who seem to have basically disappeared after that (or that little archeological mention of them remains).? just thought it would be a handy and fun way to learn about them. If O...

Re: My Cordex Nordica arrived...

Sorry guys for the booboos and errors, I was hoping it was caught in the safety net of editing. One of my writing ticks is forgetting to put 'be' at times in my writing as I go and I have never figured out why. These errors DO need to be addressed swiftly however so that the Codex Nordica can be bes...

Also look for the newly updated version in the 'Codex Celtarum' on pgs. 49-50, the 'Brunaidh/Bwbach.' You can play this as a player character if you wish too!

Re: Codex Celtarum Music

I would slowly dabble with integrating them, a little here and there first to test the waters. The abilities can easily knock things out of balance if not handled well alone. Use the smaller faery-folk first as you go for example, and not always as the enemy either. Replace the basic goblin with the...

Re: Codex Celtarum Music

This is perfect! Have you heard the Carnyx music from John Kenny? That is really good as well. I dig up the really older tribal sounding music (Clann na Drumna, Albannach, Satolstelamanderfanz, etc) for the real fast paced action and battle, and the mystical tunes (Clannad and an endless list). Some...

Are there things in the book that mirror the historical druids did, such as sacrifices (for divining and blessing), performing various rites and so forth, etc? There sure is, these are not the typical fantasy gaming druids but those from Celtic myth and history both. I have rules for what our gamin...

Nice review, I have read it and agree in some places (being it was my first module and little rough in places). Hmm, regarding that Viking style Codex. I wonder if that would help me in my Eastmark/Yggsburgh games? Sorry to derail the thread here, but since I have been reading over Codex Celtarum, I fully throw my support behind Celticgamer. Re: I hate fey!

I hate how the fey are portrayed. I much prefer the darker type, rather than the children fable variety. We need a Grimm's Fey... There are no children's variety of fey portrayed in the Codex for sure! This was not how they were seen by the early Celts even into modern times. These are akin to the ...
