Personally I think the umpteen pages of Item Saves in the CKG are a big mistake. Here is a small. simple table reminiscent of 1eD&D that I use. It runs on simple prime & secondary & used with common sense or the rule of cool on what should & shouldn't require a save, it works great & doesn't take 8...
