Re: Traveller The Invasion...

Ok, question for you guys: are you coming up with backgrounds and then making things fit or are you rolling things and making backgrounds fit. I'm having trouble coming up with a concept. There are 2 special forces guys, one federal agent guy already. I'm looking for a niche to fill, but not really...

Re: New to C&C, some questions to ask

Another way to think of the fighter's +2 advantage (with specialised weapon) vs other warriors is the 1st level fighter starts with a +2 weapon (to hit, anyway). And, at high levels, when other warriors are swinging their +3 swords, the fighter has a +5 sword (actually, +6 to hit because specialisat...

Re: New to C&C, some questions to ask

I recently bought Castles & Crusades Player's Handbook (6th Printing) and I just finished reading it. In general I like it a lot, but there are some questions that I would like to ask. Is the Fighter class balanced? To me it seems to be the weakest class. Basically it is a Barbarian with less H...

3) Savage Worlds weird Western

From the responses we have so far, it is looking like a lot of like for Victorious, followed by Traveller (with perhaps a soupcon of Cthulhu)

What we need is a poll about whether or not to have a poll.

Tree, as much as I'd want to play 5e to test out the system, you should run whatever system you want. If the GM is not having fun, then it will be hard for the players to have fun. So, pick a system/game you want to play. We'll still play. R- Yeah, but this isn't a dictatorship. I need options I kn...

Ars magica is having a bundle sale over at bundle of holding if that is the way you want to go. Last day of the sale is today I believe. I don't think the sale includes the pdf of the book most relevant to your enquiry, however, because it is from an earlier edition: http://www.rpgnow.com/product/128...

Summary for Treebore: The party was given the run around by the lord of the manor and his butler (the butler did it!) delaying them with talk of the keys so that the scallywags to whom they had already sold the keys could scarper. Classic Monsters is included. Still, that doesn't do the job that the M&T does. Maybe the Trolls will add the M&T later. They just added a new adventure today. New to the Bundle, old to us. I'm wondering if they just aren't aware it is not there. M&T gives many standard monsters, most s...

Multi class characters should not have a higher class level than single class. Multi class is a trade off between more options in gameplay vs slower progression.

I wouldn't average the levels rounded down, though. Just use the highest level class. They are paying XP for 2 full classes.

Should longer weapons like the voulge, provide the weilder with first initiative? By the book, they do. One thing not noted by the other posters is they only get this benefit in the first round. So roll initiative normally for pikemen, but let them go first in the first melee round. (p128, 4th) Als...
