Re: Amazing Adventures at The Side Quest
I know this is probably not what you meant by your reply, but I would not be opposed to a Jason Vey rewrite of the C&C rules with the same amount of time, energy, and love you put into Revised AA. Just saying... Just saying. ~O Nope. I'm not touching the core C&C rules. Those are all Steve,...

Re: FREE AA Character Class: The Demon Hunter!
Jason, I like it! But, I will it is not balanced with C&C Classes. This class is far more powerful than the Paladin. JLL I disagree and would encourage you to playtest it before making that call. There's a mathematical formula that goes into building the XP progressions for these. That being sa...

Re: Amazing Adventures at The Side Quest
Two things, though most of them are not helpful to the point of this thread: One, I bet we could get a kickass game of a cyberpunk-style AA game up at the Side Quest. Model it somewhat off the old Shadowrun Missions system. Alas, there needs to be more support for that style of Amazing Adventures I...

Re: Any difference? Old AA vs Kickstarted AA?
Hey, all, The new corebook has been revised, updated and expanded across the board. There is intro fiction to set the tone of the book, but even not counting the intro fiction the book is about 20,000 words longer than it was before, and it's all new material. The most obvious change is that all err...

Brimstone and the Borderhounds Kickstarter
Hey, folks, in case you missed the news, our new Kickstarter for Brimstone and the Borderhounds is live! I wrote this one as well, and it's 100% compatible with Amazing Adventures. It's got a number of new classes, a few that are from AA but have been tweaked/improved, new rules for wielding the pow...

Re: Amazing Adventures at The Side Quest
That's ok. It had nothing to do with Amazing Adventures. And I learned a lot more about the game. I still have a C&C game running at Immortals Inc., and down the road I may run one that combines C&C with some of the classes from AA. Jason put a lot in the companion book about how to do that...

Re: AA pregens?
So I'm away from my home computer without any gaming supplies and want to run a game of Amazing Adventures for some gamers I met. I picked up the PDF "bundle" the other day so I can access my rulebooks electronically, but most of my other resources are not where I can get ahold of them. D...

Thanks! Weird that I can't do it. I'm actually a full Admin on the boards. When I look in my permissions it says I have the permissions to do it, but the option doesn't appear anywhere.finarvyn wrote:I got your back. Just bumping this back to the top. Oddly I can't sticky posts anymore. I've still got the rights, but the option has vanished. Something seems to be off in the board settings.

Re: AA as the ruleset for fantasy INSTEAD of C&C?
That's a really nice compliment, but I'd never suggest that C&C be overhauled to incorporate AA. Rather, I like to think that people who own both can easily adopt whatever they like from AA and dump it right into their C&C games with little to no adaptation necessary. What adjustments do nee...

Re: Amazing Adventures at The Side Quest
We had a character roll up last Saturday. Six players made characters. Our next game is coming up this Saturday and I'm going to run them through a homebrew adventure set on the California coast in 1987. Five people should be coming to the game. We're ending at 9pm so we can stay at the bar and wat...

Re: AA as the ruleset for fantasy INSTEAD of C&C?
I have not considered AA as a total replacement of C&C, but I will draw heavily on both AA and Victorious to flesh out my fantasy game. I like the Gumshoe and Raider character classes. I also like the Mentalist class, which I am modifying into three versions based on each mental attribute, (Wis...

Rise of the Red God Map
Hey, all, I posted this in the errata thread at the top but wanted to catch everyone's attention here, too. In the Rise of the Red God mini-campaign, the map of the Temple of the Red God was inadvertently replaced with a blowup of the Voodoo temple from part 2. Here is a low-res image file (smaller ...

Re: Want AA + REH
Most of the original Conan stories are short stories, not full-length novels. Have you checked out the AA Companion? I've got discussions in there for Swords and Sorcery, 16th-17th century swashbuckling (a la Kane), weird westerns, Victorian horror, and weird tales. The magic system gets a complete...

Re: Praise and "Pulp Urban Arcana" Questions
Yeah, sorry, I somehow completely overlooked your thoughts about monsters as PCs. I really think Koralas nailed it. My suggestions would be right in line with his, save that Centaurs wouldn't work very well as ferals since they'd have a tough time with the whole "Swinging through trees" bi...

Re: AA as the ruleset for fantasy INSTEAD of C&C?
When I look at tweaking C&C rules, I view AA like an extension of the CKG. The CKG offers a lot of ways to tinker under the hood and modify what you want. I look at AA that way for my C&C game. My buddy Jason put a lot of golden nuggets in AA that are fun ports over to my C&C game. It's...

Re: Praise and "Pulp Urban Arcana" Questions
I'd recommend for what you want to do, to pick up the C&C Castle Keeper's Guide, if you haven't already. The current edition of AA is 100% compatible with C&C and the Companion includes guidelines for mixing the two. The CKG, then, has pretty detailed sections on creating new races for your ...

In the worm module there is a map on page five that I assume is the map of a Tomb. The problem is, the map doesn't seem to match the description of the Tomb on page 8. Some of it does but I just want to verify which side is the entrance and which room contains the "stairwell going deeper into ...
