Re: The Lost City of Gaxmoor!
I got mine on Tuesday. It looks great! Is there any word on when to expect the T-Shirt? Hopefully before Gary Con.
Resistance is futile.

Not sure. I forgot about the shirt. Hmm, I wonder if there some other extras that I don't remember.Boot Knife wrote:I got mine on Tuesday. It looks great! Is there any word on when to expect the T-Shirt? Hopefully before Gary Con.

I have yet to get mine. I am starting to think I need to make a phone call...
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I'm sure it's on route, although I suppose you are closer to AR than I am.Treebore wrote:I have yet to get mine. I am starting to think I need to make a phone call...

Re: The Lost City of Gaxmoor!
The maps are great and in particular, the isometric ones. Very well done.
Steve's module to take a party into Gaxmoor is excellent.
Jim Ward's module dealing with planes and chaos is great. Something really different ~ IMO, but intriguing and very interesting.
Now the bad . . .
With a few exceptions, I'm greatly disappointed with the interior artwork!

What? You don't like a Peter Bradley exclusive book? Well, aside from drawings of buildings and one or two figures.Rhuvein wrote:The maps are great and in particular, the isometric ones. Very well done.

Yeah, when I see hastily done sloppy work like this I just keep wondering what standard do they have that is so high that they could NOT use my daughters artwork.

Well, I do like Peter's stuff for the most part, but the thing is ~ when you compare the original artwork with the new book, it completely BLOWS IT AWAY!Treebore wrote:What? I'm wondering if there were some issues with art ownership or financing and that perhaps TLG couldn't use the original art.
Otherwise, I'm sort of astounded as to why they would chuck those fabulous black & white drawings - especially as this was a major kickstarter.
The old stuff evokes - ancient, lost, mysterious, Conan, swords & sorcery, magic . . etc. The new art says to me ~ let the nanny take the kids to Gaxmoor for a picnic and hide n seek. It will be a nice daytrip!
[Hmm, I hope TLG didn't do the same thing with the new Codex!]

Got the module from Luke along with the t-shirt and beer mug - both look great.
Tree, I'm thinking the print book cover looks even better than the PDF!!
I think Gaxmoor will be the next game I will run for my online group (assuming they would be interested)!
Excellent stuff and not just because two sons of Gary have their name on the main book!
