My source is their news letter they sent out today.

Thanks for the heads-up, but, seeing as I have yet to purchase a single one, I don't think I'll go rushing off to buy these... especially in pdf format.

They aren't all worth buying, but a fair number of them are. Serl's loss.

Any word on whether or not more of the 3.x DCC modules will be ported to C&C?

He took the Goodman DCC line over to the GSL. As I understand it he cannot convert them to C&C, since C&C is 3E OGL. He may have another way to go around that, but I cannot come up with a guess.

So, the whole line, even the existing 3.x stuff, has to be used under the GSL?

I was assuming that the GSL only covered new 4e material, or material ported to 4e.

If what you say is true... Well, that just sucks. I really liked the fact that Goodman supported C&C. I would like that support to continue.

Well,

The converted stuff is not classified under DCC but under CnC. So who knows? Any savy trolls know the answer to this? Should we be running out to buy the CnC ports before it is too late?

Any "product line" used in the GSL that was also used under the 3E OGL is required to have all 3E material sold off or destroyed by a certain date, and to never use anything published in that line under the 3E OGL, ever.

His DCC line sure seems to fall under that GSL provision, so yes, I expect to never see 3E OGL versions of any product in the DCC line ever again.

Now I definitely don't know everything about the GSL, let alone fully understand it, so there may be a way for Goodman to still do it.

I certainly hope he can.

Interesting,

Doesn't look like the CnC stuff is on sale. Are they a must buy before they disappear? DDC also has 2 1e adventures that seem highly touted. That makes 6 modules or so directly usable with CnC. Which ones are the best?

Eh, I've collected all of the DCCs that I think I was ever interested in. Some of them might be good to have in .pdf format as I run certain ones more often then others. Eh. Thanks for the Heads up TB.

Maybe this belongs in another thread, but does anyone know if necromancer is going to do the same sort of thing?

I've had my eye on Rappan Athuk Reloaded for some time, but $50 for a PDF just stinks. Matter of fact so does $30.

And what about the physical stock? Maybe a price reduction there too?

Exactly my point.

Oh, and yes, I do have Castle Whiterock, but I spent nothing to get it -- it is pretty cool. I like the hugeness of it.

I've only played one or two DDC demos at cons. I love the covers for the old school feel, but I'm uncertain how fulfilling these mods will be. Let's face it, some of us were in middleschool-highschool in the 1980's 1E days, and I'm sure SOME of those mod's wouldn't be as satisfying by today's standards. Notice I said "some", not all. On a side note, I have to wonder how Goodman will do by going 4E. Seems some people flocked to them for the 1st edition feel, and now they're going 4th. No pun intended.

one of the good things about them is they can be inserted jut about anywhere. Much like the CnC modules that are designed to be placed into larger campaigns.

I love wrapping in old modules too.. my older players get a kick out of it and it is fun to watch thier eyes light up when they figure out where they are haha

I got "Saga of the Witch Queen" in hard copy and it seemed very good. I haven't run it yet, but just as a read-through it was quite interesting.

If the Rappan Athuk material is not tied into an identifiable series which is going 4th edition, then there is no reason to worry about the PDF version disappearing (or seeing it go at a discount). As for physical product is concerned, I do not recall a deadline where they need to have these sold by -- only that no more can be reprinted if taking a line to be under the GSL. That's why there are no longer any plans to bring the Tome of Horrors in for 4th Ed. If they did, they would lose their rights to continue distributing the various volumes put out under the OGL.

As for the C&C conversions from Goodman, I'm surprised that these haven't been discounted. My understanding is that these fall in the same boat as the regular DCCs as does the two first edition modules.

I haven't the faintest idea what that is, but, umm...excuse me......someone is asking FIFTY DOLLARS FOR A BLOODY PDF??!!!

Have I stumbled off the Demonweb into some freakish plane of confusion?

So, I asked about C&C support and the DCCs on Goodman Games' forums.

I infer from Joseph Goodman's short response that there will be no further DCCs ported to C&C. However, he did mention having some new ideas for C&C which may see print some time next year and that they will be focusing on 4e "for a while".

The only reason I have the PDF is because it came free with my pre-order. I paid full retail for the print version.

My WAG (wild ass guess) regarding these is that once they sell out they won't be reprinted.

Again this is just speculation on my part.

Not wild speculation. They fall in the same boat as the regular DCCs and their future will be subject to the GSL once the line goes 4th Edition (once the first of the DCC series is put out for 4E that is). Hence why I was surprised that that same discount is not happening for these.

Yep. And another prime example of how 4e hurts those gamers and companies not willing to change. Despite what the fan boys say, it does hurt people who don't play.

Could someone possibly suggest some good ones? I have a few (about 5 or so), but are there any 3.x ones that are specifically worthy of conversion to CnC?

Of the ones I see on sale my two suggestions are:

Saga of the Witch Queen (just converted and used the DCC#17 1st half with my own Aihrde campaign and it was a blast),

and while I don't have it I hear lots of people mention Castle Whiterock as a good one.

Yep, I have Saga of the Witch Queen, and I found it to be a good module. Since it is is a conversion for use with AD&D I haven't had any cause to convert it, but I imagine it would be very easy to do so if you wanted to run it using C&C.
