Man, Jim's "Pharoah" piece just jumped from a paltry $16.66 as of yesterday to a nice sum today on Ebay.

I'm guessing it's gonna go for over $200 easy.

Everytime I see that picture, I envision the guy on the left in the party with the "Smokey Bear" helmet and cropped bangs sounding like the big lug in the classic Looney Tunes cartoon where the small gangster tells the big lug to, "Button your lip."

"Duuuuuh, O.K. boss."

It didn't quite reach $200, but it was close. Overall, not a bad round on ebay this time. Every little bit helps!!

It should have, but in this economy, I guess what it finally went for wasn't bad. I tried to win the card game painting, but didn't check back in time to realize I had been outbid.

As an aside, I recently brought up to my wife the fact that the last few vacations we've gone on were places she wanted to go and things she wanted to do and while that was all well and good, I'd been mentioning the fact that I wanted some of Jim's work.

Surprisingly, she said, "well, tax returns are soon....get something then." Now I've just got to decide on whether to get a handful of b&w pieces or commission Jim to do a nice painting for me. And if I go the painting route, what to get, what to get?

I'll get with you soon, either way.

Sweet..it's been years since I've seen some of Jim's art. He was one of my favorite TSR/AD&D artists. I loved his Oriental Dragon covers & interier art. It'd so rock if the Trolls could get him doing some art for C&C. Maybe a couple covers for the Crusader or if they put out a Oriental Adventures book..I'd buy it ,especially with Jim's art.

He did the cover for Harvesters.

I'm sure it's just a matter of time before he ends up on the cover of the next new rpg.
He's awesome!

Speaking of which, there was never a response to my question... Deogolf? You out there? I'm assuming Jim doesn't want to do it.

I do believe that the Trolls will be using his Harvester artwork for the cover of the next Crusader - beyond that, not sure.

Not sure what Joe is alluding to!

I am pretty sure Jim's artwork is one of the pantheons in "Of Gods and Monsters". So the Trolls have used him for more than just covers already.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Nice,

Now that is a perfect example on how/why dwarvs get a bonus when fighting giants!

Also, as a halfling fan, that is a cool drawing, see you all, hobbits aren't all wimpy leather clad thieves!

The piece with Peter Cushing is great! I like the joke about Abby Normal on the headstone too.

I know he did one a couple of years ago that was on his website. I'll track it down and post it. May I inquire as to the interest, good sir?

With the way the elf is holding himself and the expression on his face, it reminds me of the movie, Monster Squad...

"Elf's got nards!!!"

*I just realized one of those halfings has shoes on!

"Size 16, extra wide cut, please."

Do you think the Elf's feet are that big?

Love this! The whole idea of an elf getting rolled by 3 halflings definitely tickles my funny bone.

Happy Birthday, Jim!!

For those of you who like Steampunk, here's a painting that Jim has been working on and thought you'd like to see it! Not quite done, but pretty darn close!

Here's a recent illustration Jim did that depicts a situation from an old AD&D game from 1982-3. The ogre mage snuck into our base camp and took the head of the poor elf you see here. We did defeat it, but the damage had already been done! Ah, the life of an adventurer!!
