Re: Delving Deeper update?
Just an update from the OD&D boards -- at least one consumer has gotten the DD boxed set and posted a picture of it.

On March 5, I received a similar message. Yet I feel fine about letting this go now. John has had so many setbacks, so much in the way of personal and family challenges, that he can probably use the money more than I can. And he definitely needed more time, which I wish I could give him. (Since I'm wasting so much of mine!) If money is all it would take to make his life "normal" and hazard-free, I'd donate even more.TheMetal1 wrote:Still nothing yet. Though did get a message saying it was going to ship this week.
But since "normal" is just a setting on the clothes dryer, and having no challenges would defeat God's purpose for us to grow, learn, and become more like Him, even John would probably prefer the challenges to NO challenges.

I'll leave it up to him. For me, everything is fine. Besides, I would hate to be an OSR publisher these days, since the originals are available again. In a way, it's a shame, because the various OSR games are written better, and Castles & Crusades is D&D as it was meant to be. We just have to house-rule in the Supplement One Beholders, because my games must ALWAYS have the original Beholders. No substitutes or generics.

I know John well enough he doesn't want anyone feeling ripped off, so contact him.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I don't feel ripped off at all. Sorry for him, is what I feel and hope his life gets a whole lot more uncomplicated real soon. Shucks, I "talked" (email exchanges) a few weeks ago and let him know I have no problems with DD. We even joked that, though 2012 cast him as a Charlie Brown, I'm the one who married the little red-haired girl.

Did yours have dice in it? Was it supposed to come with dice? Mine didn't contain any.Relaxo wrote:Thread resurrection!

Re: Delving Deeper update?
The dice would not fit he said. So they are suppose to ship in the follow up shipment. YMMV

Re: Delving Deeper update?
Yeah, I didn't get dice, but I have so many it doesn't matter and I figured there was an update somewhere that I didn't feel like looking thru the past 2 years to find that said the dice were cancelled or something so I was just like, whatever.
but if they're still shipping, then hey, more dice.
Seriously though this box is very very nice. the art is SO GREAT.

John's good people and he's quite responsive. I certainly don't feel ripped off, and about a week ago I got a hold of him on Facebook. He's swamped, and I know It will show up eventually.Treebore wrote:I know John well enough he doesn't want anyone feeling ripped off, so contact him.

This isn't about your post (which is truthful, and neither do I feel ripped off) but about my post which you quoted. How in the world did I manage to throw in an extra "the" in between paragraphs!!TheMetal1 wrote:

Just an update and a great one at that!
Received my Delving Deeper Box set a couple weeks ago. Quite pleased and well worth the wait! So thank you John Adams!

Re: Delving Deeper update?
Gee, I haven't been here in awhile. I should really come back long enough to say my box of Deeply Delving Deeper came in and it's even better than I hoped! Darned good stuff, and John Adams should pat himself on the back (since I can't reach his back) for an outstanding job! I was gonna complain that Brave Halfling isn't supporting this set with adventures and stuff. And then I realized that almost every adventure and supplement published since 1974 was published for this set.
Of course, I'm pencilling in Beholders.

Re: Delving Deeper update?
Still waiting on my boxed set, but I'm glad to hear these awesome stories about the quality, etc, of the product. I worked with John on the S&W WhiteBox and was really pleased with all that he did, so my expectations for DD are pretty high.
