WoTC and 4E

Post by Troll Lord »

Hey folks,

Just a friendly reminder about some basic board policies we have around here.

Davis and I enjoy the open and friendly atmosphere that we have here and will continue to support it. But it must be tasteful and non-accusatory. So please refrain from calling anyone names or disparaging any company or its personnel. WoTC has a business model that they are following in order to expand and promote their game. That's fine. You may not like the model or the game, but that doesn't make it any less of a game to other folks.

4E may be a rockin' game. Who knows.

Regardless, lets keep it civil and fun.

Thanks,

Steve

Actually, the "T" shouldn't be capitalized. It should be WotC.

Unless of course you think the left coast really is "The" coast. If so, then carry on.

Sorry, I just see it typed like that all the time and it bothers me for some unknowably inane reason.

Fine by me. And a relief.

Let the great Diaspora begin! I am here because people on the WotC boards told me about this cool place where classic roleplaying games lived on. Is it the afterlife? No, it's TLG.
Oh, please--I have dice older than you are.

Yeah, I slipped into that mode a bit
Absoulutely right. A year ago I made arguments on other boards that the rules set didn't matter so much, and that the true spirit of the RPG is in a group of people around the table adventuring through the fantasy of their imagination.

Guess I forgot my own argument for a moment...

Of course my zealousness comes from loving C&C so much lol.

I look at it like this: they play what they want. AFAIAC D&D is dead. C&C while similar is a different game. What the other camps do may be interesting but not my concern.

Dangit, sometimes when you see a nail, you have to hammer it. But, ok... this isn't my carpentry set, so I'll be a good apprentice.

Welcome to the Crusade! Looks like there's some sort of wierd Ohio/Indiana/Illinois connection going on here. Must be since we're close (relatively) to Arkansas or something

Or, maybe the weird Ohio/Indiana/Illinois thing is that we're all rednecks and our family tree has no branches.

Hey. Atlanta here. We fit that bill as well, so maybe there's some truth there.

Us here in Missouri keep a low profile.

It's that shared border with Arkansas.

But now it's cool to share a borer with Arkansas since TLG is there.

I don't share my tools with anyone I don't know. Especially if they are from another state!
I do love Arkansas however. The Ozarks are in my blood.

I'm from Missouri! Somewhat close to the Trolllord gang, I suppose. If you call 4 hours close. Yep, it's the Egyptian Campaign guy again. hehe I'm a close personal friend of Todd and Steve, and I'm requesting a tour of the Troll factory. hehe Maybe a game session or two at Chenault Manor?? Located at the Troll Lord Compound, of course? hehe

We should get as many Crusades together as we can, and then have a SIEGE on Little Rock.

I'm all for it, but my wife would kill me if I add another con to the ever-growing yearly line-up. Seriously, that's a great idea. The state of Arkansas needs something else other than Clinton's museum.

Now that sounds like a mighty fine idea. I've even got options for places to stay so no silly hotel problems! Sadly, I am more likely to attend a CON in Arkansas than I am in my own state (IN), Maybe "enjoy" a CON would be a better term to use. If I went to GENCON, it would be a drive up, shop, drive back trip unfortunately.

I wonder how much support we could get for a CON in Little Rock?

I am from KS so I got under the radar too... Btw, I think there is a Chenault Mansion here in my town, lol.

Back on topic, while I am anti WotC, I have a long time ago stopped reading the anti topics and the negativity. That is one reason I read these boards so much. We are older and more mature gamers with a better game!

Viva C&C!!!!!!!
