Post Looking for con-length C&C adventures
There's a distinct possibility I may be running some C&C demos at DieCon in June. I have used Wizard's Tower, Cloud Giant's Tower, and the three adventures from Dwarven Glory in the past. They all seem to fit the 4 hour time slot. Was wondering other TLG modules would fit the bill as well. Where Cool Waters Run and They Call Him Guff look a bit short, and Lure of Delusion looks like it might be over 4 hours w/o trimming. Any thoughts. I could probably use DG if needed.

Ruins of Ramat (Arcana Creations) I think can be played in that amount of time; it's basically "Do we go counterclockwise or clockwise?", and I feel like Mysterious Tower (Goodman Games) probably could if you cut out some of the time-wasting fights. Where Cool Waters Run does go fairly short, I think it was about an hour for us with 2 players, and we are slow; one side or the other should clean up pretty quickly. Maybe you want Where Cool Waters Call Him Guff?

Another idea, something I've been wanting to do (because I like the Paizo flip mats and only ever use the blank side):
Get a flip mat from Paizo (http://paizo.com/store/gameAids/gamingM ... 48btpy84bk), like the one with the dragon lair, and populate it with a couple of C&C's more exotic wyrms and their attendant guardians. That would be fairly light on setup, could be adapted throughout the night as needed, and would show off one of C&C's unique features. The Fat Dragon stuff would probably be a hit as well.

I second Ruins of Ramat.
If you have Towers of Adventure, that's made for this sort of thing too.

You could mush Cool Waters and Guff together! Like, the party is hired to deal with Guff, but take a wrong turn in the woods....
If you have Unusual Roadside encounters (1 buck on RPGnow, if I recall) you can add one of those too if it's too short.

I think I've heard Ruins of Ramat mentioned before. Is it print and/or pdf? Where can I get it? Also, I suspected Cool and Guff were going to be short. I could use both together. Whatever I use, I don't want to slop a bunch of random encounters together. I'm looking for a bit of a story as well. As for Towers, I do own it, and might use that with Roadside. Does anybody have experience with Lure of Delusion? It's apparently a 5 hour adventure, so maybe it's a possibility. I'll most likely be hocking C&C product, so I want to make an impression.

here it is as PDF
http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php? ... s_id=65697

PM John Adams (Coleston the Cavelier) to see if there are dead tree versions. If I'm not mistaken, if you buy the print version, they email you a free pdf also... I'm 99% sure that's still true.

I forgot to mention the C&C version has a new map compared to the original LL version.

I've talked to him some in the past. I'll see what he knows. I've got to send in my con submissions soon, so I'd better get cracking. Thanks, guys. I'll look over the Goodman stuff as well.

I've run The Crypt of Istaris (from Dungeon #9 and re-printed in Dragon #155) twice at cons. It has a 4 hour time limit, so it works great for cons. I've also used The Curse of the Witch Head by Expeditious Retreat Press.

No, it's an OSRIC/1e adventure. All I had to do was adjust the number of spells of a few NPCs and the ACs.

Well, it looks like I'll be running one of the Dwarven Glory adventures again...The Winding Stair. No alterations needed for a normal con session. I'll also try The Lure of Delusion. Should fit after some trimming. Also going to run They Call Him Guff. That one will need more added to it.

Just got a copy of Dragon #155 from Troll and Toad for $2 to get a hold of this adventure. It does seem like a good one and I'll be running it at GASPCon this fall. Ha, the dungeon seems sound, but, geez, there is a whole page of boxed text for the intro! I think I'll edit that down a bit. ;)

Any tips for running that bad boy?
