Well since ssfx117 won't be making it either I think I may just call this canceled for the night.

Not only that but my wife's young service dog was hit by a car, so a trip to the Vet's will likely take too long for me to run the game tonight anyways, especially since the nearest good Vet is nearly an hour away.

So yeah, lets call the game cancelled for tonight.

You have sent me no PM's regarding this matter. I only got one PM weeks ago stating your intention to continue paying, nothing since requesting a total.

Is everyone going to make it tomorrow? With only 4 of us I don't really want to run it without everyone.

If not lets get together and make PC's for the next game we are playing.

I should be there! Jermaine of Gepeto's Scops feels neither good graces or gentle gratitudes towards the gallivanting gentlemen who tried to grievously gut him and his companions.

Hmmm... Well I really don't want to run with just 3. Maybe my daughter will start playing again tonight.

On another note, I have to go do some PTSD dog training. I SHOULD be back in time, but if I am not you'll have an idea as to why.

So hopefully I'll talk to all of you at game time.

OK guys, this is apparently a popular question, the more detailed rules are on page 17, but mostly on page 18, telling how to spend the points, etc... So read that over, post any questions and I'll answer if I think I know, and if I don't, I'll go ask the Darkmatter guys.

OK, let me award XP a bit differently, you have what is called 10 "Core" XP, which means you also have 1 "Drive" XP. Above this you also get "Talent"" XP.

So you have 11 XP with which to increase your Skills, plus any bonus you get from your relevant "Talent" or attribute modifier with regards to skill(s) related to that talent which you are getting or increasing.

What that means is if in Aramis" PC's case, he gets 4 bonus reason points to spend on any Reason related skill he increases or buys.

That is 4 points total, not for each skill increased. Any bonus from any talent related to any skill gives you bonus XP to spend on increasing related skills.

Alternatively, if Aramis does not wish to increase any Reason related skills, he can convert these bonus points to "Core" XP at a ratio of 3 points converted to 1 point. Which will allow him to spend that point on ANY skill.

Skill cost. If you have a negative modifier all skills related to that attribute/Talent costs 1 extra point to increase at each rank of the skill. So at rank 1 it will cost you 2 points, to increase from 1 to 2 will cost you 3 points. Otherwise skills cost XP points equal to the rank you are increasing to, and you can only increase a skill one rank EACH time I award XP.

This means you can currently only increase rank 1 to rank 2, or buy new skills.

You cannot buy any specialties until you are considered level 3 in the skill in which you want to buy a specialty, so no specialties until the next time I award XP is possible. You cannot buy a Mastery until you have a rank of 4 in the skill in which you wish to buy a Mastery.

So to try and sum up, you have 11 XP with which to increase old skills by one rank, and you can buy any new skill at rank 1. Any skill you buy to which the relevant attribute has a positive modifier gives you bonus XP with which to increase the skill. So if you have a +1 modifier in Might, any Might related skill you increase, of your choice, and only one can be chosen, costs you one less Core XP to buy.

In Aramis' case he has 4 bonus points in reason, so he can increase any 2 Reason related skills he has to rank 2 for free, essentially. Then spend his Core and Drive XP on buying or increasing any other skills he wishes, gaining further bonus XP from Attribute modifiers related to other attributes with a bonus, but no more are gained form Reason, only the 4 points.

Any further questions?

OK, the Darkmatter guys finally answered my questions.

Horses. They say horses do replace your move, so you do NOT sacrifice one of your two actions to have the horse move. So that is good.

As for the dragon breath weapon, they give a somewhat confusing answer, but it appears I did do it right to allow armor to reduce damage, what I did wrong is you are able to Dodge and even Block a breath weapon, when it is a spitting breath weapon like the Spadetail/Theroden Dragon does. Area of effect breath weapons only allow a dodge if you are in the outer edge squares of the breath weapon, otherwise it works like I was doing it.

So with these dragons you could have blocked or dodged if you had the action left.

Good stuff Treebore. I thought you handled it fine regardless of the exact rule (even though I am the poor sucker that nearly got killed ). In these kind of things, go with what is reasonable, as you did.

It appears that I am coming down with a nasty cold/flu that my wife and youngest son have had. Nasty headache, constant sneezing (which combined with headache made their heads feel like it would explode with each sneeze), sore throat, etc...

So if I am right, and I am pretty sure that I am, I will not be up to running or playing any RPG's for the next 4 days or so.

I am definitely sick today. I was hoping my allergies were just being extra bad last night, but no, I caught the illness my wife and son have had. So no game, and I likely will not be playing in tomorrows Eclipse Phase game either.

there is a good possibility I wont be able to make it. I have some friends coming over for dinner tonight and I'm not sure what time things will be wrapping up at, but I know we are starting dinner late tonight.

I can still host the server and If someone wants to run my character to keep the session going feel free to do so.

OK, this is the day of "Crap happens". My refrigerator has stopped working. Not only that but I have a broken pipe at my other house to take care of.

So I don't know if I will be running the game tonight or not.

What's the next game after EPIC RPG? Any chance we could have that ready to go, just in case?

Sorry I had to cancel again, but at least by tomorrow afternoon I will have a new refrigerator and gas stove. Well, relatively new. The fridge is less than a year old and the stove is just over 2 years old, and both in much, much better shape than the ones I have, even when they work. I got them for $400 too. So we are happy.

Looking like everything is a "GO!" No problems cropping up, no one is sick, only thing on our agenda is to slaughter a goat. So as long as no one cuts themselves, etc... should be a game tonight.

Not sure if I will be running, I have serious dizziness issues to where I cannot walk straight, etc... I have no fever, or any other sign of illness, so I do not know what is going on with me, other than my foot may be broke. But that happened day before yesterday, so I seriously doubt it has anything to do with this severe dizziness.
