And a frustrated, terrified troll flees down the river bed.

Oh woe to thee, brave adventurers, for a relic of the dark one hath been found.

The Abyssal Duke rides upone his nightmare only in memory it is say'd.

Yet, few claim in hushed voices that the Red One even now travels the lands of After Winter Dark, for plunder and war...

Like I said during game time, that has to have to been the craziest encounter I've ever had with a troll. And it was a lot of fun! :)

Still though, I wish I had done the Tarzan vine swing, ah well, maybe next time :D

travel across the bridge...
continue on the mountainass path...
prepared to memorize spells...
Set up for the night...

the fire is set...
we can see in the night...
we divy up the treasure...
there is sounds inthe night...

ht elion goes off and hunts the troll...
there is silence after some cat cries..
we are all up on my watch..
the sky is clear...

the lion has died...
from the troll...
we countinue in the dark on th emountain path..
looking for a new place to rest...

we see some big wolves..
i shoot..
giles shoots...
i shot and failed...

i got bitten...
feel so alone wihtout my lion..
the wolves attack..
giles goes down...

i scale the mountain...
giles got herded...
entanglement has been cast...
the wolves are held..

shot at the wolves...
scared them away...
others helped too..
color spray put them to sleep..

after words i finish off the uncouncious wolves..
we travel some tiome and finally...
set up camp...
its very windy out...

the troll has appraoched closer...

It is say'd amongst rangers, driuds, woodsmen, and those who frequent the wilderness, that trolls can be relentless once they locate a food source...

I couldn't find any entries in Uncle Holfo's book that describe trolls, so I feel that I must add to it now that I have seen one in the flesh. Foul and bloodthirsty, they are stubborn creatures. They will not give up their food source easily and will stalk you for days if necessary, if only to wear you down in order to better make a grab at you. Quite stealthy for a monster of their size (over 7 ft. easily) they seem to especially enjoy attacking under the cover of darkness. Fire scares them somewhat though you will need more than that to defeat them, if they indeed can be slain with weaponry, for they seem to heal quickly, even before your very eyes. A most unnatural horror which I have been unlucky enough to have encountered on my travels thus far and should be avoided at all costs.

Tonight's unfortunate poem:

A halfling and gnome lie beneath the surface of a river,
Their bodies fished out at leisure,
To pass through a troll's gullet,
Piecemeal.

Journal Entry 8: Korriz Bar Devlin De Stonewater

See the thing about adventuring is there is risk and reward. Reward is easy, coin, cleavage, gems, magic items, gold...
Risk broken bones, cuts, gashes, loose and arm, leg, eye, whatever else. But sometimes there is death. Its the greatest risk, death.

The plan seemed simple, kill a troll thats been bothering us for a few weeks, even coming to hunt us down.
Arrows and magic from afar, I being the best to handle this beast toe to toe would kill it hand to hand.
Well, many arrows and spells flew thru the air, not many were true. The troll charged, I engaged. More arrows missed there mark, my mace
missed the mark and flew outta my hand. That's when Cutter decided to backstab the troll, success! Until he turned from me and grabbed him.
The popping and and cracking of bone and sinew, the gushing of blood pumping from veins and the heart exploded in death throws.
This is what I had to witness and try to fight on, Giles maddened by this carnage jumped toe to toe with the troll, and the bloody
mess i just witnessed I witnessed again. AGAIN! Sounds of popping and grinding as the troll popped Giles head like a dwarf eating a blueberry.

Bloody carnage, my heart can't take no more. I cannot fight no more, this was too much to see 2 friends rendered by this troll.
I yell to Mad eye to run and I pop a potion on invisiblity and disappear into the gloom of loss.

This restart's gonna be both a game I write, and one developed by the players as it progresses. Umbrage will o' course still be used, because it's awesome. :)

Sunday evenings, 6:30ish-9:00ish mountain time

1st level

1st-3rd printings o' the PHB.

Roll 3d6 for abilities and arrange as desired.

For multi-classing, just combine the xp needed for all classes, average the hp rolls, then take the best bth, armour, bla bla bla, etc.

Previous characters may of course be used.

A few friends found, a few enemies made. Such is the way in the port town o' Nix.

The party heads north to the haunted house with cautious hope, and now heavy purse...

Great night last night playing C&C for the first time! Some great story telling going on. Thanks Don! I find the game mechanic a lot faster than D&D. Very nice flow.
