Castles & Crusades Players Handbook, 4th Printing Now Here (TLG PR)

LITTLE ROCK, AR {October 02, 2009} An exuberant Troll Lord Games announced the release of the 4th printing of the Castles & Crusades Players Handbook today. This release marks the second major step in the companies 4th Crusade event. The 144 page Players Handbook with 16 more pages than previous printings, retails for $24.99. The 4th printing contains a revised barbarian and an expanded spell list for the illusionist class. The Players Handbook has begun shipping to retail outlets everywhere.

It has been a long summer, remarked Steve Chenault, CEO of TLG. Trying to get this book out and into shops has been like driving a herd of turtles. It seemed to take forever to put a wrap on it. But when we opened up those boxes Monday afternoon we were thrilled. This printing exceeds our expectations. It marks a new chapter for us here at TLG and for the Crusade in general. People are going to love it. We are particularly proud of the revisions to the barbarian class, as it unleashes the staggering power of the primeval. This printing brings it home like no other.

In this 4th printing Troll Lord Games addressed many issues from previous printings. Aside from light text edits this expanded printing sports the new, dark green trade dress with its easy to read, exquisite logo design. The books interior layout is crisp and allows easy access to needed information. TLG abandoned the glossy paper that marked the 3rd printing and used an offset opaque that is both durable and sturdy all the while bringing out the grayscale of Peter Bradleys art.

The new content equals the new dress and design. This 4th printing of the Players Handbook takes another look at the barbarian class. Previous printings followed the standard barbarian as presented in role playing games throughout most RPGs. In this printing TLG addresses the barbarian in all his primordial power. Gone are the stereotypes of rage filled warriors; now the barbarian is a primordial creature who believes that only his natural powers, abilities, and instincts stand between him and a miserable fate or cowardly death. His very abilities depend upon his own ferocity in battle! Also within this latest printing are over 45 new spells designed for the illusionist class. Written by James M. Ward with Mac Golden the spells add a whole new dimension to that age old spell caster.

Castles & Crusades is a rules light fantasy role playing game. Its easy to learn attribute based rules system allows players to choose among 13 archetypical character classes and 7 races to create their characters. Spells, equipment, fast-paced combat rules, and all essential information needed to play a game of C&C are in the Players Handbook.
