TLG 80123 Landscape Screens (Available)

Post by Troll Lord »

So I ran a bunch of youngsters in C&C last couple of days and they loved it, but at one point I was told to sit down. I replied that I needed to see everyone...to interact, see facial expressions and the like...to which the reply was "You have your new fancy screens in front of you, aren't you supposed to be able to see over them?" Oh yeah.....

The Casebound Landscape screens are out! We ran off the first batch, shrink wrapped them and they are ready to go.

You can get more information HERE.

These things are rocking for sure. You can see over them and they are stacked with information such as combat maneuvers, the price of beer in a tavern, attribute bonuses from 2-30 and tons more. For the first time in a long time I am comfortable at the table running C&C (now all I need is a throne and a dais!).

I like hiding from my players, but I just ordered one of these. Sounds like it has more stuff than the portrait, which is great. Hopefully I can read it all without my specs.

One thing I was wondering; does it have racial bonuses? Generally players take care of these on their sheets, but it's useful to remind them and to use for NPCs. If not, a swell product would be a nice laminated broadside with again as many charts as you can fit on it, just to keep on the table. Or a second screen.

Awesome! Been vocally waiting (opposed to quietly) for these and the Classic Monsters book. Will have both soon! Great start to 2012. Just sent an email to orders with a couple questions, and they shall be mine!

Thank the gods of landscapeness (I don't think Mr Ward put those in the book, but it's ok).

What is "Case-Bound"? Am I the only cheap bastard who thinks $17 is high for a Screen? What am I not getting that drives this price, besides that I havn't bought a DM screen since 1992?

Case bound means THICK. These screens are made of board.

Just ordered mine, cant wait to get it.

For years i wouldnt use a GM screen because it was hard to see over. Over the last 5 years or so i used one (grudgingly). I will happily retire my CK screen for these landscapes!
Please don't beat me.

The website says "2-Two Panel screens". So does that mean a total of 4 panels? How are they attached to each other?

I like the idea of a lower screen. Next, HUD "screens". :D

Yes it means a total of 4 panels. How they are attached I don't know what they have chosen, but I'm willing to bet they'll be durable.

Question: in order to cut down on shipping costs, anyway I can tie this into my Classic Monsters or Rune Lore pre-orders?

It does not have that info on there. But you are going to like what Davis cooked up on the print shop! Better than laminate....

Casebinding is the process that wraps the cover sheet around chip board for hardback books. Our screens are bound just like a hardback book, on 90pt chip board. Thus the price.

You can TRY that, this is Castles and Crusades you can try anything, but the Trolls are going to have to make a successful intelligence check to actually DO IT!

Classic Monsters will probably ship week after next. Rune Lore in Mid to late Feb. and the screens are ready to go now. Its up to you. Tell us what you want and we'll do our best to make it happen.

I uploaded a video on the Youtube channel, the blog and on the C&C facebook page and the Troll Lord Facebook page accounts. You can see a pretty good demo of the screen at any one of those sites.

Two of the youngest grandotters just watched the video with me. The 3-year old wants to know why you didn't "do magic" and make something appear out of the box.

Me, I am impressed with the strength of the screens and wanna.know if the Dr Pepper is included with them.

What is the art on the screen? I could make out the recent Crusader cover with Aristobulous facing a Balrog-type thing, and one of the over-the-shoulder female-entering-a-dungeon pictures (maybe the bottom right one from Ravenchilde's colour gallery), but the rest was too dark in the video to see.

I've just put the full image on the blog. It won't carry over here well as it looks small on the blog but if you click on it, it blows it up very nicely!
BLOG

The print image is a little darker than what you see here, but not by much.

Thanks,
Steve

Indeed O, the Thundergasm ensues! I have been waiting for this screen for some time. They look awesome. I am going to order two at least, one for me and one for my teen son who runs a game for his buds. Of course, he is quite able to see over the portrait screen, unlike his dwarvish father. lol.
