I just finished looking through the PDF and it is very pretty. The full color makes the text pop a lot better than the 4th printing.

My only problem was that there wasn't more artwork in it to take advantage of the color.

If the postal gods are kind, I will have it for my game this weekend.

Encumbrance rules were changed. They are similar, and simplified, but changed.

Uh oh. I start a campaign in a week and a half. Is the encumbrance change enough to worry about delaying, Omote?

I can't imagine any scenario where encumbrance rules should delay a game. ;)

You'll have 3 encumbrance categories: lightly (or not) encumbered, encumbered, and overburdened. Treat encumbered PCs as having a movement of 10' slower than listed and -2 to Dex checks/saves. Overburdened PCs can move 5' / round and do little else.

That should be enough info to prevent a delay.

DO NOT DELAY AT ALL! Encumbrance is the least of any reasons to every delay a game. Plus, you can use any encumbrance rules you like in C&C. Game on, always.

EUREKA!
Duh, I should have thought of that. I trust gmail too much.

Also, I third the suggestion to not delay for encumbrance. Dude, game=fun. Encumbrance=boring. wing it. use the old rules, or whatever. just PLAY MAN! :D

Oh the color PHB is just delicious! glorious to behold. I hope it catches people's eye and they get into C&C. I bet it will help.

I like the new Encumbrance! Sleek, but detailed enough, I think. I see the Worn modifier was discarded. does anyone know if any of the EV's of things were changed? or the Ad Hoc determination method? I'm just curious and too ADD to compare to my older PHB (and also I need to get out of the house in a minute).

What is this "encumbrance" of which you speak?

I spot checked many of the EVs of items against my 4th printing book, and they appear identical. However the rules governing capacity items have changed, which I think help balances out the lack of the worn attribute.

I have a quick question, too, about this. I was looking over my funded Kickstarters and I got to this project. It said that for the $40 backers, there would be a "set of the Character Reference Sheets." I don't recall these. Can someone help a brotha out? Maybe I got them and don't know what they are. Maybe I'm going nuts!
