This sounds great. Any chance you could share long term vision/plans for the game system?

Hey AJ,

Presently the product is in a test mode. One of the concepts behind the box set is the long term longevity of Lejendary Adventure Essentials. The Essentials box set offers a complete game, to include dice. It continues to sell. To the point that we only have about 80 left.

But that longevity comes from shelf life, derived from the game being complete.

So Starsiege and the games that will follow it, will go through the same process that LA did/does. We continue to offer support for LA because Essentials continues to sell. Starsiege will be given the same treatment. It if does well we'll offer support, if it does not, we will par it off. But anyone who has bought the game isn't being ripped off, they have a complete game in hand.

The hope from our point is that it will be well received and the talk so far is pretty good.

Hope that helps.

Steve

Thanks for the feedback. To be honest, I was hoping to hear that you've got a dozen or so source books in the works ( ), but completely understand the business model/decision behind the release.

Thanks again,

AJC

hello all. i am a recent addition to the following of castles and crusades. my friend has been running the castle zagyg campaign for our group. great fun! as for starSIEGE, I cant wait for this product. if it is given the same treatment as C&C then my friends and i will be all over it. a quick question about the game... will it use skills as an integral part of the game or will it be supported with an options pack like C&C?

On target for a June pre-release. Though again, Upper Works may delay this box set by a month or so.

I've been to Lincoln City before. Living on the coast, very nice. So far you are the only other Oregonian I've identified on this forum. I've converted a few friends to C&C, but otherwise haven't found anyone else (so far) playing C&C in Portland.

Well, it only took 10-15 minutes of playing C&C to convert my group from D&D 3.5e. I can't wait to unleash SSEH on them.

You might try Ancient Wonders down in Tualatin. George and friends usually have a hopping store full of folks especially on the weekend and lots of gaming space. Might pick up some folks there.

our group is only 5 of us, including my wife. I imagine as my daughter gets older she'll join in as well. Isn't much non-video gamer culture here at all.

From what I understand, StarSIEGE uses a skill-based system entirely and not class-based. It's not directly compatible with C&C; you'd have to do some tweaking. For example the skill packs are where you attach your prime bonus to, rather than your attributes.
