Should I get Of Gods & Monsters?

Post by Relaxo »

It's on sale for 10 bucks.
I'm never going to use it, I barely play as it is.
But for 10 bucks, (prolly about 20 after shipping) is it worth it just because it's THAT GOOD?

Yeah, I found the material more inspirational than useful for my particular campaign, but it's definitely given me some good ideas for keeping the mythology alive IMC.

Personally I didn't think it was a "must have". I just didn't like the takes on my "favourite" pantheons. But as with most things there are plenty of good ideas in it.

If used as written it will add an element of power creep into your game, which you may like, or not.

I found that the product in question gave me lots of ideas on how to add things to my own campaign. I really like the spell ideas presented in this book. For my tastes, there is not quite enough about each deity in this book. I used this book as a template and greatly expand my deities of the Norse with the ideas presented here.

I also think it's a mixed bag, but it's a steal at $10.

Personally, I like the not-too-extensive details on the gods in OG&M. Also,
I've got my old Deities & Demigods from AD&D, so I can go as long-winded
as I care to.
I do like the treatments givin in OG&M and (as has been said) the special
spell lists for followers of each pantheon are a very nice touch.

Heck yeah . .

as mentioned, it's a steal and has some excellent new spells.

Great selection of artists. Load of ideas on using/deploying the god and deities!!!

Must buy!

It is far from my favorite deities book, but I still own it in perfect, hard and PDF format. Lots of min-able ideas, and I really took a liking to the American Indian Mythos, something I have never done before.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
