(C&C) MA1: Monsters of Airhde I NOW AVAILABLE

Post by Troll Lord »

Monsters of Aihrde I (DR1)

PDF Pre-cursor, $1.00, 5 pages

TLG 81661, ISBN N/A

The world of Aihrde (what the Dwarves call Erde, which is the Father) was first brought to you in the Codex of Erde (Troll Lord Games, 2000). This monstrous book presented a fantasy world rich with opportunities for adventure and expansion. Fully illustrated it recounted detailed histories that spanned a time line of millennia , making Aihrde one of the most detailed settings out there. The Codex outlined countries, their rulers, their pastimes as well as cultural norms, tales and mythologies. It also brought a small host of new monsters to the fore.

This was all before the advent of Castles & Crusades.

For a variety of reasons, those monsters appeared in their abbreviated forms, somewhat reduced and change to fit alternate styles of role playing. Now, we are proud to present to you the Monsters of Aihrde, 4 part series that brings to light the original concepts and powers of these monsters. Some few alterations were made in names to reflect the growth and development of the world setting, but these are the same monsters so intimately tied with the setting, only greater and in their original intent . . . here you will find the ungern, the mogrl, charon fiends and more. Each serial book offers 5-6 monsters whose content and range depends on each individual monster.

Though created for Aihrde (Erde) and designed for use with the Castles & Crusades role playing game the Monsters of Aihrde are fully usable with other systems, though some adjustments in abilities will of course be necessary.

In Monsters of Aihrde I you will five monsters destailed: the Charon Fiend, a foul mix of beast and magic that is driven mad through its self-inflicted pain; the Ur-Suk or Dark Faerie, fey that are driven into exile who prey upon the weak with evil deeds and murderous lust; the Tagean Hound, legendary dogs whose loyalty and power is beyond description; the Ungern, those creatures of the Horned Gods making, evil and cunning bound in a fierce visage makes these the most deadly of the humanoids; and Unklars Breath, sorcerous creations that serve as guardians and familiars to the foul lords of winter.

Each entry comes fully detailed with descriptions, habits, culture where needed, treasure, combat, all abilities as well as a special section on each monsters place in Aihrde.

Its a $1.00. Get both and consider one already scanned for printing out.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Awesome!

I'll definitely pick up the Monsters of Aihrde print product. I've always said that one can never have enough monsters (or magic items) to keep the PCs on their toes.

I'm very reluctant to announce a date on these things as we so often get caught unprepared for the host of problems that assail a small business. But suffice it to say I'm confident that I can have the Monsters of Aihrde print product ready by late (december 2007). Keeping in mind that I am due to complete either Aufstrag or the re-write on Aihrde for the boxed set by Gencon.

The Monsters & Treasure of Aihrde will be (presently planned, and this may change) 128 pages and include all the extra monsters in the setting, treasure items etc etc It format will be familiar to you all. HOWEVER, each monster is given far more detail than you are used to. For instance, the Ungern you have now (presented in Mortality of Green) is about 400 words long, the entry that appears in Monsters & Treasure I and eventually in the print product will bea bout 1550 words long. Much more background, detailed abilities as they play out in my game (I always make things more powerful than presented) and peculiar information relating to Aihrde.

By the by...

Monsters & Treasure I is complete and will go up on the RPGNow and Drivethru today or tomorrow...more likely in the morning.

This sounds great! Thanks for the slighly more in depth overview. As for other impending projects, I'm equally exited!

TLG kicks ass!

Downloaded mine and it looks great. The Tagean Hound is fantastic. I was just reading about him in the Codex and now I've got the full treatment. This nice puppy is already giving me loads of ideas for encounters. And another way to drain GPs from my PCs!
