50% Off Codex Celtarum

Post by zacharythefirst »

I know a lot of folks will already have the Codex Celtarum, but I picked up a table copy for my group. Anyone else get the 50% off email from the Trolls? Sounds like it was only a box of 30....and when they were gone, the sale was over...

From my inbox:
The Kickstarter was so successful that we've started ordering and printing more and more books and goodies. So much so that the stock room, store room, office, house, are all filling up! So to alleviate a little of this, we have decided to do a very quick, down and dirty, one-book half price sale:

Codex Celtarum is 50% off in our store now until the box of 30 runs out.

Order this book today, it will go out tomorrow, with our gratitude and appreciation and you get an award winning book at 50% off! Remember this deal is first come, first served. Once the box is gone, so is the sale!

Yeah, we really are trying to clear some space and thought this would be a great way to do that, run a little sale. :-) Only 13 left as of this writing.

I failed my SIEGE check and ponied up the $$$ for this great deal.

I had been reluctant to purchase this product because I generally do not run historical fantasy games, but figured there was probably some neat stuff to plunder in the book for my homebrew campaign or perhaps as a way to (re)flavor the Ugashtan tribes from the Haunted Highlands setting. I am sure there will be something in this book I can use, and at the very least, it will probably be an interesting read :)

Too bad it was Rune Lore. I'd have been all over that one.

Had I not obtained one through the unusual means of Mr. Lord Troll, I'd would have been interested. However, I do not get Troll emails. Maybe I should.

Failed my save and snagged a copy, that's 2 C&C books in the last 2 weeks, not to mention the kickstarter! I may have a problem.

I grabbed the Codex Celtarum back when it was released and I really dig it. If anyone is on the fence, get it!

Codex Celtarum came in the mail today! I have read the first few pages and it seems pretty cool so far. The Celtic names are somewhat jarring/confusing, though I am very appreciative of the attempt to also describe names in their English equivalencies, e.g., King of Ravens, etc.

I am only a few pages in, but it has been an interesting read. I do not know very much about Celtic mythology, so it's all new to me.

By the way, in case anyone's wondering, it takes about 16 days from the moment I order a product from TLG until it arrives on my doorstop in Honolulu, HI. That means I probably have another two weeks before I see the new PHB. Still probably better than people in Canada, Europe and New Zealand/Australia! They will see their stuff around Christmas! :)

Celtic languages take some getting used to in an English speaking world, which is an irony considering that it was the Anglo-Saxons that nearly wiped it all out after 1,500 years and constant contact. The only thing I haven't put in the book is a pronunciation guide but I plan to when we do a second printing. At that point, I also plan on adding lots of extra content more than I have already, so much that I hope the Head Troll agrees because it will be 200 pages thick! I am already excited with the idea. It will the Codex Celtarum X2!

Any chance that pronunciation guide could be a free pdf (or even a paid one) download? More than happy to pay for more content in a future CCx2, but darn, need to know how to pronounce those words now!
