So what RPG's other than C&C do you play/run, or wish

Post by Treebore »

to play/run?

I am playing CORTEX and Dragon Age starting this coming Thursday. I run Aces and Eights as my face to face games on Saturdays.

I wish I could get into (play) a game of:

Wild Talents

Mongoose Traveller

Mutants and Masterminds

EPIC rpg

Chivalry and Sorcery

Twilight 2000 or 2012, preferably 2012

Aces and Eights

The only thing I want to run beyond what I am currently running is:

Mongoose Traveller

I run a weekly(ish) 4e game.

I wish I could run C&C live more often (right now it's when 4e folks don't all show, and PbP).

Star Frontiers

Savage Worlds

Dragon Age

Tainted Lands

BECMI D&D

are the ones I'd liked to run besides C&C.

well... C&C has been my focus for about the last year. Unfortunately... since I'm leaving Ohio I will be ending my ongoing campaign with my lont-time group... But... Fortunately I've already made contact with some on this forum (you know who you are )... and hope to start a new C&C campaign very soon once I get settled into my new home in Oregon.

I would like to run or play:

- The new Warhammer RPG - I got the new boxed set and I really like it.

- Alternity - Always loved that system... haven't played in many years. I created a campaign setting (loosely) based on Fred Saberhagen's Berserker Wars series of novels, and I would love to resrurrect that.

- Hackmaster - Not the new Basic game... but the original. I have all the books and published modules... but I've never gotten to play any of them. Would love to do that!

Right now I'm running OD&D (1974). I'd run AD&D in heartbeat.

On my wish list right now:

RuneQuest II

Call of Cthulhu

Mythus

WOD

Aces & Eights

We've been playing Savage Worlds for the last year or so and are now picking up C&C to play with old school modules for a bit (doing a "Moldvay" campaign: Lost City, Isle of Dread, Castle Amber).

The next games on our list are Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and then a Shadow World campaign with Rolemaster.

Running:

C&C-Castle Zagyg campaign (been going for a while now and they are getting close to level 6)

C&C-Haunted Highlands (2 sessions in and the players are loving it)

Dark Heresy-Truth Can Be Dictated (mash up of my own stuff and their printed modules)

Dragon Age-campaign hasn't been named yet

Pathfinder- just in prepping stage. Kingmaker series

Playing:

WoD-something like A-Team meets Cthulhu

D&D4-the first printed modules

Want to play/run:

Hellfrost

Aces & Eights

Gamma World or Mutant Future

Earthdawn--This is the game I think I'd like to run more than any other right now. I've always been fascinated by it and the new books are simply fantastic. Heck even playing would be supersweet.

Don't play any RPGs other than C&C currently. Do play a couple miniatures wargames however.

Would like to give;

Mutant Future

Victorious (when released)

a go.

Yeah, like I have said in the TLG chats, I had a real good time playing this. Way more fun than I predicted for myself.

I was playing/running 4 games, but now I am down to one. Running a 3.5 game in Mystara, based off the old Gold Box game Pool of Radiance. It's Basically Pool of Radiance set in Fort doom just after the Black Eagle Baron was defeated by the hin and abandoned by Bargle. It's been a blast to run so far, and the changes to setting a think are fun and fit well with the module. We also play with a modified list of Immortals and Greater Angels and Demons. The Immortals mostly represent the Good Evil divide where the Angels are more Law Chaos. It's a nod to the the OD&D days of only having 3 alignments.

Other Games I play (I wont list many that Ive not had a chance to play more than once, as that would be a mighty long list):

Savage Worlds

OD&D/S&W Whitebox

Dark Heresy

Dragon Age

Dragon Warriors

At least for the last few years. Before that it was AD&D, BD&D, RIFTS, Top Secret, WFRP, Star Frontiers and more that I cant remember at the moment. C&C has pretty well cured me of wanting to run AD&D anymore, but I might get an inkling to run BD&D/RC sometime, who knows.

I'm playing in this game and it's very fun. I wasn't sure how much I was going to like the crossover, but it has been all win so far.

Right now I'm mainly running a Star Wars Saga game, playing through the Dawn of Defiance campaign they released (for free on their website).

I also play C&C, though it's on a limited basis (it was the main game before the SWSE game started up).

I'd like to play, in the future (or concurrently, if I had more time to play ):

3.5 D&D

Dragon Age

GURPS (a modern low-powered supers game, preferably)

more C&C, of course

nWoD (a modern horror game would be cool with this system)

WFRP (2nd edition)

some Battletech would be nice

Currently only running one game and that is Dragon Age. It stalled for a bit but now we're getting back on track.

Games I would love to run/play?

Trying to get a C&C / Kingmaker campaign going.

Yeah, these are the last few Ive been playing or running. As far as what I'd love to try; I haven't had a chance to run or play Rogue Trader yet and am wanting to get my hands on the upcoming DeathWatch. Other than that, I can't think of anything I really want to play or run that's not on the aforementioned list of my most recent games already. I am about to join an online gaming group that is running a system made by the GM of that group. It's got a lot of WFRP and C&C elements to it.

A game I want to run is Fallout: Burning River

Using a homebrew system based off the fallout video games system. Set in the ruins of Cleveland and its perpetually burning river. A cloud of radio active smog breeds Coonwolves and Mutant Deer. One side of the river lives in relative luxury based on stolen technology from the former Nasa Research center, the other in a state of constant tribal warfare as bands of cannibals and mutants compete for the scraps of society. West vs East as the two sides come to a final conflict divided by the always burning river.

Wow, that sounds like a great game cF. Fallout is such a cool RPG setting. I have to suggest the Fallout 3 Strategy Guide from Prima Games. It's literally dripping with real table-top RPG ideas and applications. Matter of fact, I think you can run a table-top RPG right out of that book as long as you could come up with a core mechanic. The Fallout games give a pretty good idea on what that core mechanic could be anyway.

I'm kinda thinking a Hellfrost campaign would be pretty neat. Not real in love with the SWXE rules, but the setting sounds inspired.

Hellfrost is badass. I'm actually toying with using Pinnacle's original Deadlands system and just tweaking the hell out of it to make it run smoother.
