Level 6 Woot!
My 4e DM would like to sit in on our game if that is ok with you all. His wife is expecting any day so he may not show. If he can get away for a little time this evening, he may pop on Skype and listen in.
Wife is out on business so I'll pop on as soon as the little one here settles.
Cheers

The Vorpal Sword helped a lot with that. Its 19,000 XP all by itself.
Hmm, I only got about 1000 so not sure if we get credit for the vorpal sword or not...

You went from "Grogin 24,580" to "Grogin 33,117 ", thats over a 8000 XP gain.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Right. We already had the XP for the Vorpal Sword and other loot with that XP total. That is why we all jumped 8,000 XP+. All we had to do last session is determine the owner. We got it the session before.LordSeurek wrote:Um, no. Re: Greyhawk C&C Game Thread
8th Day of The Month of the Bear, 576 C.Y.
The time draws near! My failed apprentice Qujar, as he now
calls himself, shall again have access to this world of Oerth.
I was wrong in being merciful. Trapping him in that Cursed Chasm
seemed punishment enough, but now I see the error of my reasoning.
For had I known of the flux of the temporal reality of the place, his prison,
I would have banished him to Limbo, Pandemonium, Tartarus
or even worse...
I have discovered through my calculations of the stars and planetary
movements, along with a great Working and Communication with
my planar allies and other informants of myriads of unfathomed Truths,
that the Chasm is to again appear in this world, though for a limited time.
It has been one hundred and three years since I have cast the magics
necessary to stop what's left of the man who now wanders that wound
in the rock, that pocket of earth that isn't fit for this world and I expelled him thus!
And now I know that in the coming Month of The Lion upon the 13th Day,
the ground shall open, this time in the Bright Desert, and the Chasm
will be revealed for 13 days and 13 nights.
And on the last night, when the darkened planet of Necrol enters the fifth decanate of
the constellation of The Horn, his bonds will be broken and the Chasm shall close
again, shutting itself off from this reality for another hundred and three years.
The greater shedu Banatu had allowed me to see that Qujar knows of his
predicament and is preparing to earn his revenge upon me, but he will not
stop there. Given time he will become a great scourge upon the Flanaess,
succumbing to that Withering of the North, and serving it's Will. Banatu
agreed to travel here and give passage by dimensional flight for Broden
and his charge to the location of where the Chasm is to open. He will arrive
on the 12th night of the Month of the Lion. I am grateful for his assistance.
The Chasm has an Energy that gives long years to anything that lives
in its depths. It also corrupts and strengthens those that are trapped there.
I have discovered this far too late but there is hope, I have constructed
a means to nullify the effects of the Chasm. With most of my remaining Life,
I have imbued 6 talismans with the power to repel the Corrupting Influence.
They will last for one trip only, after leaving the Chasm they will crumble
to dust and so will the last of my magic along with them. May it be well spent.
Lord Brodin must be informed immediately. He is the only one I can trust to
enter the Chasm and end the madness of Qujar. But I am too drained to even
stand at the moment. I must gather my strength and see him in the morning.
I must stress the need for secrecy to Lord Brodin, if it were to become common
knowledge, many would enter the Chasm in search of gain, only to suffer a terrible fate.
May it never come to pass.
If anything happens to me before I am able reach his ears, I can only hope that
he will see this last entry of my journal, which I have left open upon this table.
Look for the loose stone on the floor in the back of the storage room my friend.
Now I must rest.

Small piece of parchment resting on top of contents reads:
This is the last of the aid that I can provide you. May it be enough to turn the tide if things
become worse than I imagined. Your father was a good friend and he would be proud to
know of the man that you have become.
Also a further note: I have included a scroll that was inked by a High Priest of St. Cuthbert,
who unfortunately has long since passed. If you are lucky enough to have a goodly cleric in
your company, I would trust that this would be a welcome addition indeed!

Hey guys, sorry I missed last game.
My comp crashed, and now that it's back up and running, I don't have internet access from home for some reason. I'm hoping to have it up and running today.

As I mentioned last week, the meeting I have scheduled for Tues eve is going ahead so looks like I'll be out for the game. I may get home long enough to pop on towards the end, to see if Tree was finally successful in killing off my PC
Talk to you all later...

Interesting thing I just read... Grogin would not have been allowed to attack the elementals without breaking the protection against them:
"The protection against contact by summoned or conjured creatures ends if the warded creature
makes an attack against, or tries to force the barrier against, the blocked creature."
-C&C PHB 4th printing, page 98
I thought it was suspect, but I failed to double-check it.
