Amazing Adventures: Army of Darkness

Discussion of the pulp roleplaying system, including hard-boiled detectives, fedora-wearing action heroes, and steampunk gadgeteers rocketing to battle.

Amazing Adventures: Army of Darkness

As soon as this book is out, I'm statting Ash Williams for fun!

Multi-classed Gadgeteer and whatever the fighter-type class is called! :D

I'd actually be inclined to stat Ash up as a straight-up Gumshoe; his gauntlet and chainsaw aren't really gadgets, per se, as the game sees them.

That's a great movie! I hadn't thought about blending Amazing Adventures with Army. Hmmm.

Rgr on that, but once I get some extra money (and can afford to by game books again) I'll have to play around with that idea.

I think I have wights in AA (I'll need to double-check) but I'd just use them to model Deadites.

I'd also make judicious use of the sanity rules. Some of the Lovecraftian monsters would make for good alternate takes on Deadites (Shan-taqs, for example, would make great winged Deadites, and Spawn of Shub-Niggurath would model quite nicely the whole, "The forest is alive!" bit)

As soon as I buy the game, I'm going for it... But if anyone wants to stat stuff out, go ahead, I won't be offended! xD

As a side-note, the Unisystem AoD game was pretty cool! (I felt it only fair to mention it!)

As an added side-note, someone else started a thread for using Fields of Battle with AA... (What's more, he has Ash as his icon! xD ) viewtopic.php?f=11&t=12438

The ending of Army of Darkness sure felt like it would have used FoB!
