Some good stuff... and one REALLY good thing.
(Hint: It's C&C that he saves for last. And it's my book he shows (Classic Monsters). I feel like I have arrived.)

Re: Wil Wheaton's favorite Indie RPGs
I show this vid to a bunch of my players last night, some of which were playtesters of this game we love so. It took until NOW, for some of them to realize that Castles & Crusades wasn't just some under-the-radar, no-name RPG. We fans are growing, loud, sometimes disturbing, and MIGHTY! Even Wil Wheaton thinks so. I mean, just look at his description of the game. Awesome.

Re: Wil Wheaton's favorite Indie RPGs
Wow he really does get fired up and geeks out over C&C, even after all those other games. Very cool to see! Didn't someone post a screen-cap or such awhile back because they could see on the shelf behind Wil 1 or more C&C books? I don't know if he's talked much about C&C before this video, but it's always nice to see the word getting out.
Re: Wil Wheaton's favorite Indie RPGs
Kim, thanks for posting this.
This was the first gaming-related video my wife would watch, purely because of WW. He does a nice job of "capturing the spirit of the thing" (to quote the move, Slap Shot). Here's hoping it brings more attention to the C&C game. I'd love to see Wil do a video of a C&C game being run. Not sure if he does that. I've not followed his YouTube stuff before.

Actually he has ... he did a 2-part video where Chris Pramas was running Dragon Age for Wil, Chris Hardwick, Kevin Sussman, and Sam Witwer.Zudrak wrote:I'd love to see Wil do a video of a C&C game being run. Not sure if he does that. I've not followed his YouTube stuff before.

Re: Wil Wheaton's favorite Indie RPGs
I did enjoy the Dragon Age play-thorugh on Tabletop. This seemed like a pretty typical convention style one-shot. While I think a regular, continuous style campaign would be fun, it's probably not that much for for the casual viewer. I would personally watch more sessions of Dragon Age, and especially C&C.
Maybe the Trolls could run a session or two for the gang over at Tabletop.

I think I'll name the PC's home base the Village of Wheaton (which is of course known for it's prodigious cereal crops).
Re: Wil Wheaton's favorite Indie RPGs
This made me laugh. The first time I ever saw Wil Wheaton was on the back of a box of cereal for some promotion where, if you won, you got to have a walk-on role on ST:TNG with "Wesley Crusher." Of course, I didn't start watching (and enjoying) the show until many years later when it was in syndication.Arvernian wrote:Fizz wrote:That settles it! Re: Wil Wheaton's favorite Indie RPGs
I always hated Wesley, but recently I'm a huge fan of Wil. That said, i haven't seen an ep of TNG in years, so maybe Wes isn't as annoying as I remember.

Re: Wil Wheaton's favorite Indie RPGs
Not so much dated...though the first season is a bit weird with the different uniforms and beardless Riker..but ironic to watch Wesley Crusher and remember how much you hated the character before he grew up to become Wil Wheaton.
Re: Wil Wheaton's favorite Indie RPGs
OH I see.
Yeah the first season was a bit of a mess - the show hadn't found it's voice yet, but there are some good eps IIRC in season 1, and by the end of season 1 it was getting good. even by season 2 some of the best episodes were happening. great show.
