Interest Check Roll20 C&C Wednesday Night

Post by exoknight »

Checking to see if there was interest in a Roll20 C&C game using google hangouts for chat. The game would 7pm to 10pm EST. I'm thinking bi weekly. I might be running some converted DCC modules and some homebrewed material.

Normally I'd be interested, but my face to face group just went to twice per week play, and Sunday and Wednesdays are our days.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Yeah, I'd be up for it too, only I have several online games already and refuse to use Hangouts.

So, is that two players interested? If we can get a couple of more that would be great. I've been planning on running three adventures from DCC: Adventures Begin Hardcover that came out doing the 3.5 era. They are short adventures that will require very little conversion. There also be some homebrewed elements thrown in. I want to keep the game casual.

Character Creation
Attributes: 4d6 Drop the lowest
Advantages from CKG are okay to use
Level: 1
Gold: You can roll for starting amount.
HP: Max at 1st.

House Rules:
-For the most part by the book.
-A good cleric (or a neutral cleric of a good deity) can channel stored spell energy into healing spells that she did not prepare ahead of time.
-Rogue can backattack if flanking.

Not sure if there is a built in dice roller on the forum. If not we'll have pre-session once get enough interest to create characters.

There's a few G+ communities out there for RPing in Goggle Hangouts. You could try recruiting there if you haven't already.

G+ RPG Hangouts
G+ Tabletop Roleplaying Games

There's also a community for C&C:

Castles & Crusades Society

Are you going to allow multiclassing and class and a half? I was thinking of going one of those routes if so.

For your information.

Friend me on Google Hangouts: SN: Steven Marella
Skype SN is lastgrasp
My e-mail is lastgrasp @ yahoo . com

Once I get everyone confirmed and setup I'll post a link to the room for Roll20. I do use tokens & maps for my campaigns.

If you are interested we can meet up this Wednesday night to do some character gen.

At this point it would be nice to see what characters everyone is interested in making so we can round out the party.

No rush on Character Creation. So far don't have enough people to fill up the game. Posted on google plus to get some traction. Hopefully we get more people. If not I'll try to set things up later this year.

I may be able to play at the end of the month. My wife and two kids are about to move into a new house, so life is hectic now, but when that all sorts itself out I can check about playing. It was east coast time right?

Yep, EST Time. It's going to be something casual. Was actually thinking about doing a megadungeon/superdungeon. Easy prep besides the maps on VTT. Group starts in town and at the end of the sessions ends in town. Each session somewhat self contained. So if someone doesn't make a session it's not a big deal.

I have ran Rappan Athuk before and probably wouldn't do that one again. I was thinking Barrowmaze if I was going to do something like that. The whole moral ambiguity concept. You aren't saving a princess but robbing a tomb. ;-)

I'm definitely interested, but have two issues, one will soon be solved, the other not. First off, my wife and I just bought a house, and I'm packing up the next couple weeks, moving, then of course unpacking. So probably not available for a month. The more permanent issue, is my wife's crazy nursing schedule. It changes every week. She works nights and so leaves me with our two little sons, when she goes. Those night I wouldn't be able to play until 8 or even later. When she's not working I should be able to start at 7 pm. Would these two issues be too big a problem?

Totally understand. Trust me I have 9 month year boy and schedules can be blown up real quick. I have been prepping a game when I can. Trying to get further along where I'm pretty comfortable with what I have setup.

So far I am going to be running Barrowmaze. Now, Barrowmaze is an old school dungeon crawl. It's deadly and not for the faint of heart. So far on Roll20 I have the starting area setup and some of the dungeon environs done too. Once I'm further along I'll setup a date so we can roll up characters.

-Would like to get around 5 to 6 players. If not henchmen would be a wise investment.
-Probably have everyone make backup characters. Barrowmaze is deadly.
-The group will start & end in town/village each session. So if someone misses a session it's very episodic.

Yes, does sound good. I've heard good things about Barrowmaze and I've never really been played in a megadungeon either. I'm thinking of trying a barbarian.

Hi,

I've moved into my new house and have my computer setup. The den isn't finished yet (my ultimate private space) but I could get to playing. Is this Wednesday night game still a possibility?

Still intending on doing the game. I'm on vacation next week in Florida. After I get back I was planning on getting recruiting and character creation going. I would say the first Wednesday after the 4th we can gather around and do some character creation.

Just to give head up to everyone. I'm going to start up the/a game in the Fall. Once my wife is back at school, my son is in daycare, and summer is over in Northeast. I'm thinking mid-September.

Sounds good to me. I'm having a busy summer myself. Looking forward to the game though . . .
