The special feature article should be nice... at least until something more official comes out (a la Gazetteer style)

Hey, slow down you guys! You might hurt yourselves!!
Just kidding, of course!! Keep up the great work!!
Any idea if this is the issue my "fabled" write-up on herbology gets seen? I remember it was supposed to be like 3 issues back, but if it got canned, that's cool, too. Just need to know if I can move forward with it, or if TLG wants it.
The Crusader has been really improving of late, and that makes me happy. One, because its fun to read, and two, because it shows the Trolls can be professional when they say they will be. Heheh.

I just received mine last week. Now that I know issue #6 is coming, it is time to renew my subscription.

This poor magazine continues to suffer. Massive miscommunication via my email account has delayed this book a bit. Alvin and I seem to have finally figured this out and worked through it. Final draft should be on my desk by tonight and we'll push to have this out by LGGC III.

Great.
Hmm, why vol 3? Isn't vol the year? Even though yer a bit behind, it's six issues a year, correct? So wouldn't it be vol 1 number/issue 6 for this release? Or mebbe, it's a mag requirement to change vols at year change.
Just curious.
Thanks, Rhu.

I'm not sure about the # of issues per year, but if TLG is using Vol# to determine year, they are probably doing it by calander year. Issue 6 would clearly be in the 3rd year of production for the Crusader mag if this was the case (the first issue of Crusader being dated Jan 2005).

Hmm, why vol 3?
"Volume" is used differently by different publishers; Troll Lord uses it (as many, perhaps most do) to indicate the year of publication. So for example, last issue was Volume 2, Issue 5 -- until a certain unpleasant event in my personal life caused a delay -- but since it didn't get printed until 2007, it became Volume 3, Issue 5.
So Issue 6 is also Volume 3, as Issue 7 should be as well and if we can keep up the pace, Issue 8 might be Volume 3, too.
However, then we'd have a minor Issue-naming problem
Y'see, Issue 5 was "Winter 2007" because it came out well before Winter was over; and I chose to call Issue 6 "Summer 2007," because various delays prevented it from getting to print early enough to rightfully call it a "Spring" issue (especially since it probably won't be hitting anybody's mailbox until right at the beginning of Summer, which is only a week and a half away now).
But if we actually manage to get out more than four issues a year though, obviously the Seasons won't work for Issue "names."
It's technically irrelevant, I suppose; and some magazines don't bother with any secondary names for their issues but I think that's sort of boring, and it just sounds cooler to say, "Hey, did you read the Winter 2007 issue of Crusader?" than to say "Hey, did you read Crusader, Volume 3, Issue 5?"
Besides, it's nice to have some reference to TIME on the cover, so you have some idea when the thing was printed.
Anybody else agree?
Another possibility: We could ditch the secondary name ("Winter 2007," "Summer 2007," etc.) and just emphasize the issue number more so you'd say, "Hey, did you read Crusader #5?"
If we went that way, I'd emphasize the issue number on the cover in some way perhaps by making it quite a lot bigger, and sticking it down in the lower right-hand corner or something (and maybe dispensing with the volume number on the cover, referring to it only on the interior, on the Contents page).
What's everybody think? How do you refer to an issue, anyway? I'll bet you just say, "Crusader #X," right?
I know it's a moderately trivial matter, but I'm just curious
I'm pretty much of the same opinion as Serl.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Ditto to the above; I just enjoy reading the latest ruminations from Mr. Gygax and the various insights on the gaming phenomenon itself. I've been seriously considering submitting an article or two - "Sex in C&C" sounded like a good starting point, although the title rings a bell for some reason - since this is a community (and a publication) that actively encourages the rank and file to submit stuff, rather than professional/commercial personnel only.

This book should ship this week. We had some advance copies for LGGC III, but they had a few small mistakes (wrong ad on back cover and no ISBN). But the regular issue 6 will hit next week.
Thanks,

I was quite frankly appalled to discover that the ISBN was missing.
And the wrong ad on the back cover?!?! Will my suffering never cease?!?
I will NEVER, repeat NEVER pick up an advance copy of this hopeless rag again.
Well, not until issue #7, anyway.
