Prime Question
This is my first time playing C&C and I am playing a Human Rogue.
My stats are:
Str: 13
Dex: 16
Con: 15
Int: 14
Wis: 8
Chr: 10
I know that Dex will be a prime, but what, would you suggest, the other two be? I was leaning towards Int. and either Str or Con. Just not sure which.
Any help would be great! Thanks!

Re: Prime Question
Depends on how good you want to be with all of your class skills.
Typically I go with DEX (required), INT and CHA.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Re: Prime Question
Welcome!
Yep, take INT as a prime to increase chances to find and disable traps!
Good luck and . .
enjoy the game!

Re: Prime Question
How about between Str or Con?
Re: Prime Question
STR is more likely to get used more often, but when those poison saves come along, your going to want Con. Decisions, decisions, decisions...RaFonaRaFona wrote:How about between Str or Con?

Re: Prime Question
My question would be; How do you see your character? Is he the sneaky snark. The ever hard to kill roach type. A subtle thug. Etc.
Sort of match your prime to the character of the character.
My two-cents for what it's worth.

Re: Prime Question
He going to be sort of a dandy, but he needs to be able to handle his own. Doesn't want to have to rely on anyone.
Re: Prime Question
Then INT, DEX and CHA.

So does that make it a consecutive +2?
Re: Prime Question
Dex and Int will come up often as you use your rogue abilities. Depending on how your GM runs spotting/searching and surprise, you may find Wisdom also very important. Given that your stats give you a -1 on all Wis rolls, that +6 from prime* might come in handy.RaFonaRaFona wrote:This is my first time playing C&C and I am playing a Human Rogue.

Most players choose their primes on the basis of a) their class and b) the kinds of rolls (both skills and saves) they will be making frequently
Another thing to keep in mind is a prime can moderate the results of a very poor attribute that you feel will be important. This is more relevant if you take your rolls "in order" rather than choosing what goes where, but if you feel Dex will be important to your character, and you happend to roll a 7, that sweet +6 bonus from prime can make all the difference
*- the lower base for prime rolls (12 vs 18) is equivalent to a +6 bonus
Re: Prime Question
I second the use of a prime on a moderate to low score.. but most important character and competency themes need to be addressed. A dandy who relies on no one will need that low WIS to help enforce his school of hard knocks learning style ;} Have fun with it! A low score should be a roll playing treasure mine. CHA usually not CHR for me... at least.
Wow, Another Natural One! You guys are a sink hole for luck. Stay away from my dice.
Re: Prime Question
Number crunch would say Con since you will make saves against failed remove traps, or Wis, since you have a low score there.RaFonaRaFona wrote:He going to be sort of a dandy, but he needs to be able to handle his own. Doesn't want to have to rely on anyone.
Character theme would say Cha. Dandy's are aloof and generally overestimate their wit (low Wis), but concerned excessively with appearances, both physical, and in the way they carry themselves.
Re: Prime Question
Half-elf would be a good choice, to take Intelligence as Prime. If I recall, half-elfs get some modifier for Charisma and you could make it your "half-Prime."

Ah ok, I don't think I have ever played with Half primesArduin wrote:+3 rather than a +6Dracyian wrote:What do you mean by Half Prime?serleran wrote:Half-elf would be a good choice, to take Intelligence as Prime. Re: Prime Question
A half-elf of Human lineage gets to add +2 to attribute checks of one secondary attribute (I think it's called "Attribute Check Modification", the racial feature, that is). This might be modified from older editions as I'm citing the 6th printing PHB and might have been a +3 in the past.Dracyian wrote:Ah ok, I don't think I have ever played with Half primesArduin wrote:+3 rather than a +6Dracyian wrote:What do you mean by Half Prime?serleran wrote:Half-elf would be a good choice, to take Intelligence as Prime.
