Gareth is planning to advance his bardic music skill a level, and take a level in a new skill, pursuasion, based on his experiences in the first session. We need to be in Sigil proper and have access to guilds to train us though. Gareth had put it out there that we leave Undersigil to do this between sessions, which is ok if we all agree on it apparently

Yes

Furthermore - all skills that you start with, start at 100 XP. I should clarify this in the github site.

There is likely room for 1 additional player. Possibly 2 more, depending on how everyone in the group feels.

You can set your characters on the path towards Good alignments, with the following costs:

- Modron Unit 9 will lose contact with Primus and become classified as a "Rogue Modron".
- Kalaszar will need to switch to a god of Good alignment. Luckily, Gilean won't send any punishment squads for a new cleric leaving him. The process of joining a new god will be extensive.

Does the modron have to do that? Did it lose its neutral alignment? The horror.

In its defence it did advocate for the disassembly of more than one defective unit. As for assisting the survivors, that was just a subroutine for its profession of Search and Rescue bot. It was -just- following orders and not making an editorial comment ....

Modron Unit 9 does not have to change anything. Just offering an option, in case it develops a particular sense of what is considered defective.

gasp
To lose contact with Primus! What could be a worse outcome. If the modron could feel fear it would tremble.

That is a good question about what it considers defective and I'll put more thought into it. I'd probably start with anything anti-social or destructive to smooth functioning & order. A modron would have to deliberate a bit to determine if a situation like the one we encountered was defective. What is obvious to us would not be obvious to the machine mind.

To invite us to investigate and then refuse to open a door was evidence that something about the flesh unit's cognition was defective. Restricting the movement of other units was the deciding factor. Chaining flesh units is untenable for smooth social functioning and would result in impaired cognition in the developing units. A supervisor responsible for such a damaging situation was therefore destructively defective and in need of decommissioning. Its parts would be better utilized elsewhere -- like pushing up daisies.

The Rust Biters are a gang, so I will be tracking their relative power rather than the party's reputation with them.

At a certain heat level, my main computer basically cannot be turned on, or else it will either get damaged or heat up the room enough to damage myself.

Saturday is currently projected to reach 100 degrees, and I don't have any air conditioning at home, so the game is likely off.

Gareth,

We have received and processed your application for Apprentice Detective. Unfortunately, your race of "Vistani" indicates that you do not believe in individual property and are inclined towards wanton theft. Harmonium policy explicitly forbids hiring anyone from such a culture. Furthermore, your skillset indicates that you would willingly associate with degenerate musicians who use illegal substances. This compromises your ability to find evidence against criminals who deserve to be arrested and prosecuted.

Regards,
Harmonium Bureau of Personnel

To the free band of Modron Unit Number Nine, Gareth, Chmee, Khalasar, Cassyon, et al,

I have recently returned from my planar foray to Acheron, where I had been studying the military logistics of an army that lived on one of the clashing cubes. I am still processing the death of my father Amburst, so please forgive me if I have not been as quick to complete his remaining affairs as you might like. Hopefully these trying times do not result in excessive generosity coming from anyone. Amburst taught all of us within the family to never allow emotions to cloud our judgment, especially as regards wealth and power, and these lessons have served us well. We remember him with great fondness.

Since you were the last people to have seen him and been in his employ before his passing, it only seems right to settle his accounts with you all first. I have read your proposals, particulary those of Modron Unit Number Nine, and understand full well why these seem to be reasonable requests to you. But please indulge a grieving daughter her counteroffer.

You may rent my father's obervatory for 300 gold per month, with one month pre-paid from the amount that is owed you from our estate. You may be granted an additional month of rent if you help me to settle another situation that my father was managing. The details of that account require a bit of secrecy, and so they must be discussed in-person. I will be taking my father's place at the Fated Office on the corner of Grist and Tresit; inquire there for me.

With many thanks,
Margehrt of Amburst

You see a cloaked figure putting this poster on the wall of the tavern:

SMASH THE OPPRESSORS!

Your life is controlled by the banks, the guilds, the institutions, and the factions! They may not put physical chains on you (mostly), but they still control your food, your money, your access to clean water, where you can sleep, and who you're allowed to kill. They are fake people, they act one way in public and another way in private. They are dishonest liars, they say things they know are false. They are the kind of people who would say bad things about you behind your back. Their treachery and deceit is becoming more obvious every day. The ultimate example of the oppressor is Adventure Capital, which claims to help people do whatever they want in life, but in reality they are just a training house for thugs. Anyone who has ever worked for Adventure Capital is a paid thug, don't trust a single one, especially if they're in debt to it.

The answer is to smash them all! We can do it! Punch a lawman in the face, give them a taste of their own medicine! Set the Adventure Capital buildings on fire, smoke out the greedy misers! Put all of the wealthy into the guillotine! Give the thugs one chance to be re-educated!

Join the Revolutionary League and strike back!

With the move progressing slowly, we have a ton of friends showing up Saturday to help. I seriously doubt I will be able to make it this weekend, and I already knew I wouldn't be on the following weekend, so I have to miss two weeks running :( I will definitely return Oct 14th though!
