I'm waiting

Post by Treebore »

This is the thread where I tell you I am waiting to be told "its shipped".
Then you respond "its shipped" when you finally get it in the mail.

Patience, grasshopper.

How about you write a review of Tell Qa, while you wait?

Damn fine, module!

That cover of AGJ looks so billy-bad-@$$. That preview alone should sell a ton of copies and/or subscriptions. If the rest of the 48 pages is as good as the frist preview 7, then James Mishler really hit the first issue out of the ballpark.

Just fantastic.

I just know James said issue one would be out in January, and in the preview he may have said something to the effect that he would be shipping it to subscribers some time this week.

So I posted this thread. Besides, most posters on this board haven't noticed how much my post count has actually gone down in recent weeks. I think my recent "hot posting day" peaked with 5 posts.

Adventure Games Journal #1 is... not here yet. In fact, it is being shipped to me today, and will be here on Monday.

If I receive the package in the AM, it goes out that afternoon. If I get it in the afternoon, it goes out first thing Tuesday AM.

hehehe... then it won't be me.
I expect to get it a few days after a bunch of people have received theirs. This is due to reliance on both the USPS *and* the CPS as it passes hands somewhere along (and around) the US/Canadian border!

May the idiot who is my postal carrier not be inclined to bend the crap out of it in order to shove it into my mail box!

::Sigh::

Yet another delay I am sorry to report. I'm afraid that the magazines did not get shipped out to me until today, and will not be here until Wednesday. So I ship them out either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning. It will squeak by still in January, but just barely.

I apologize most profusely for the delays.

Not your fault though since this falls obviously out of your control.

I think if I had it to do all over again, I would not have offered a subscription service for a regularly-released product, and instead simply released products as I finished them and sold them as they were done. When you have a big team working on a project it is very different from working on it as an individual... of course, I also have Peter as the artist, cartographer, and graphic artist, but it's still not the same. When I'm sick or my computer is down or circumstances in life otherwise intervenes, *nothing* gets done on the writing and development at all. Back on Scrye and Comics & Games Retailer we had a dozen or more writers and two or three editors, full-time on-site sales staff and graphic artists, and a whole other support crew. Big difference.

I can hope and work toward the release goal I've set, but frankly, it's an ideal goal. If I meet it for even two or three months in a row, I'll be happy. I don't expect anything remotely like the delays I've had getting started, but other delays, I find, are going to be part of the nature of the business...

Quality over quantity is so much better to have. So if anything, don't stop writing.

Yeah, don't think I am complaining or anything. I always liked the bits you wrote over at Necromancer and I like Tel Qa a lot. I've read through it 4 times now and still found "new" things that I didn't catch in previous readings, etc...

So I am fine as long as you deliver on what you promised, the time table would be "nice", but its the quality content I want the most.

So just keep plugging away and get it done when you can.

I agree. I've got loads of old stuff to paw through from time to time for ideas. I'd much rather have good stuff slow than average stuff quick.

Adventure Games Journal #1 is sitting on my table; all the subscribers copies are in their envelopes, ready to be mailed first thing in the morning!

I knew when things got to -45 degrees with the wind chill and I saw a pit fiend run by rubbing his hands saying "This is way too damn cold, who shut off the furnace" that the product was almost here...
Subscribers copies are being shipped with a copy of Campaign Map 18: Southern Reaches, plus a couple of other very minor goodies. The Player's Guide to the Southern Reaches should be done soon and at the printer shortly thereafter.

Please let me know what you think of the issue as soon as possible!
