Need Advise (Peter Glad, Jason, Atom - Others)
Hello all
I have recently been contracted to do a series of color covers and well- I am a little rusty with color work.
I am considering purchasing a set of Prisma Color pencils to do my color work than scan in the image and work it in Photo shop....
My question on this matter is how well does Prisma color pencils work for this type of Art
I have a small Tablet thanks to my friend Jaybird but it is very difficul to work with in Photoshop --- I am going to instal Illustrator tonight and try my had at colorizing several old school pics.
any help you can give on this would be greatly appreciated
I used to use prisma color pencils alot when I was younger
and I had a nice set of thier Markers but they got trashed by my kids
her is a example of a pisc I did with the markers
it is of a Cle3ric/soldiers arm showing of the holy symbol he has tatooed on it

Works well, depending on how you use them. I've done art with prisma before, but I also blend them with paint thinner. (Use the odorless kinds. Other folks in the house will thank you.) This is an older (much older) colour work of mine in Prisma. Ok.. but Illustrator really isn't suited to that kind of work. IMHO anyhow. _________________ "We'll go out through the kitchen!" Bout as well as acrylic I'd say. Has about the same vibrancy. _________________ "We'll go out through the kitchen!" Tanis Half-Elven Peter Bradley

While I appreciate you including my name amongst these very talented artists, I unfortunately have no input for this as I am almost an exclusive pen and ink (read: black and white) kinduv guy.
I see Peter has already given you sound advice. Jay also uses them quite frequently, if I'm not mistaken, as well. I think he'll be away from his computer this weekend, but I'm sure when he gets back to it he'll have some input as far as Prisma Colors go.
Good luck with it and congrats on the commission work!

Hey! I'm here until noon. Try the veal!
I think Peter's steering you the right way, Martin. I don't really have anything to add unless I wanted to repeat his post almost verbatim.
Good luck with the commissions! Keep battling the tablet, too. Practice makes perfect. Maybe it'll be easier when you get your new PC. _________________ Jason Braun Art Monkey for Hire Three-Headed Troll Art Wurks

I use to use colored pencils all the time. I had trouble scanning them though, they alway came out grainy. If you have a digital camera with 5 to 8 megapixles, the final product may come out cleaner.
