Any plans to release AGJ as a pdf?
Any plans to release AGJ as a pdf?
Hi. Not sure if this has been asked before but are there any plans to release AGJ as a pdf? This would be esp good for us European fans... I'd happily pay up to the print price to avoid the $8 shipping fee.
Last response was "no".

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

The current answer to that question is a strong "Maybe."
I've been rethinking the old "No" policy of late...
There will be more thinking about it after speaking with people at Gen Con...

Those Klingon cloaking devices are good but kinda creepy...
Thanks for the swift responses. I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to sell them as pdfs...of course, I would rather have the print version but you can't get it locally in the UK (unlike Crusader magazine which I buy from Leisure Games here) and so my only option is to buy direct and I'm afraid I'm reluctant to pay $8 for postage for one 48 page magazine...this comes to a total of $20 and, to be honest, with a limited gaming budget I can get a whole book for that! Anyways, I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Cheers

One word. Piracy.

One method would be to sell pdfs, but 1-2 issues behind the currently published one. That way, its available for those who prefer pdfs (like me) yet there is a clear advantage for subscribing.
As for piracy....people will pdf stuff and pirate it out if they want to. Not selling a pdf version won't really stop anyone.

First you need to get one or two issues ahead of issue 1.

Piracy is going to happen if someone wants to pirate. Why punish the honest customers due to the actions of people who are going to take those actions whether you make it easy by providing a PDF or make them scan it?
The "job" is to get your product to paying customers, not use criminals to stop providing product to your customers.
Thank god grocery stores and Wal MArt don't operate with that logic. Otherwise they would shut their doors and not let anyone in the stores because there are "shop lifters out there!" Never mind their worst shop lifters are probably their very own employees.

Well, I'm not going to go over the whole argument of piracy and all once again. That's been the main reason for no PDFs to date.
But I am less concerned about that now, due to a bit of a crash course in available technologies.
The issue now is more the how's, who's, when's, and what's of getting it all done.
And of course, getting more product out so there ARE PDFs to buy!

Whatever technology you use, make sure it still allows me to copy and paste as well as print selected pages.
