Who is Althea Clover and where might you find this one?

She is a halfling druidess from Coverdale, who is attacked by goblins (#33).

I had a brief look (last week before the forum wonkiness) and couldn't find anything. One more look tomorrow, if it's OK dunbruha - and then we can declare you the winner!

Not much traffic here now that the book is oop. What a shame (that it's out of print). Every time I read it, or the Yggsburgh Town expansions, I am moved to tears over what might have been...

Anyway, here is a clue for you: This unlucky gentleman is a nephew of a well-to-do proprietress of a shop on Citadel Square.

Yep, the book is underrated perhaps. I myself liked it a lot when I bought it, but in the last year, I've really read it more and more and think it's just brilliant.

Heh, your clue was perfect and it was a great question. I was just about to say Bork Craigs, the 8 foot dwarf!
So, I believe it's Howard Astenby then?

But, if that's correct - I think you win a point and get to ask another question!!!

Hats off to dunbruha.

If you don't mind I will keep my hat on--it's too cold here!

Howard Astenby is indeed that one. Congratulations!

And speaking of random events, here is another gambling question-- what is the name of the gambler and swindler who is pretending to be a well-to-do gentleman, the younger son of a foreign nobleman?

the dashing Ponce Fylez may be encountered at one of Yggsburghs' finer inn or taverns.

Tis a shame that Yggsburgh is out of print, I wish I'd picked up a second copy now.

When I bought it I wasn't that impressed. I didn't like the names, some the descriptions seemed lame, and layout annoyed me.About six months later I started to actually read it. I think it is brilliant as well. Yggsburgh and the Upper Works are among my personal top ten rpg products that I own ( and I own way too many)

That's a normal reaction. A shame people didn't actually give it a chance when it was released, only to then find out it kicked their ass.

So the founder of Yggsburgh (Edward) wasn't the first Lord Yggs?

Check out Environs Encounter #5 the Salt Mines. It is the only reference to Franz that I'm aware of. Until a few days I'd never noticed it.

Yes, I hadn't noticed that either until you brought it to light. I assumed that Edward (the founder of Yggsburgh) was the first Lord Yggs, but I guess he could have been further down in the succession from Franz.

Sorry its been a bit but I've been ill and we lost power in the big snow/ice storm. Anyway, on to the question.

Said to be a site of demon worship, this location has been attributed such strange goings-on as dancing and pulsing lights as well as eerie, chanting sounds that keep the locals well away from it.

The strangely named Unnamed Island is subject to such rumors and superstitions.

I think drunken dwarf and gnome miners are a more likely source for the racket.

No worries, I too have been busy and have meant to get back to this thread.

Is the site Hiddendale?
