Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

From the few hints that Case dropped regarding this over the past 6 or so months, the spells seem to be much darker then C&C spells as they are now. However, I doubt they are going to be extremely graphic, NC-17 rated stuff. Besides, who needs that?

Graphic, violent, disturbed, et cetera, has superficiality to do with "dark" and rating is irrelevant. However, if I know Casey and his previous works (which I do) then there is much hope in this department... after all, one can simply take a quick peek at Winter Runes for an idea.

At last we have movement on this thing. The text was laid out before editing, so the laid out version has gone to editing (last week). We should have it back today. So this puppy will move through the log jam pretty fast in the next few days.

Must have now!!!!
Session Saturday. Party includes an NPC who has read the Black Librum. Long story which will be in the forums someday. Pushing the Paypal button puts nothing in my cart. MUST HAVE NOW!!!! Maybe if I bash my head on the computer that will fix it. bash. Bash. BASH! Oww...
Hope it gets fixed soon. I can probably keep the party confused for another few sessions and the preview in Crusader 17 will certainly be enough of a taste to scare them thoroughly.

Brian had a look see at it and found the problem. Not that he fixed it, but he followed up with some maniacal laughter, and something about he's in control now, calling the shots and I would suffer the yoke or some such.
I'll have to figure this out and get back to you.
Steve
ps: he'll get it fixed tonight. haha

If you're going to use Latin, use it correctly!!!!
It's librum, NOT libram.

Don't be too hard on the boy. Dude's from Arkansas, he barely uses English correctly.

Using Latin is like using the undead, sometimes you get it on, sometimes not. hahaha...get it, er undead, dead language. oh well...
But I'm not sure where Libram comes from in the popular usage, I have little doubt that it is a bastardization of the latin word. But WoW uses the heck out of it as something more than a book, but rather an ancient tomb filled with secret knowledge. And that is indeed what the Libram is, filled with ancient spells and necromantic chants.
And hey, if you are fluent in Latin I have a question for you! PM me please.
Thanks!
Steve

You can blame Mister Gary for Libram. He made it popular for a whole new five or six generations of fantasists.
All hail Gygax!!!
I have to say I'm sitting here with the first copy of Black Libram I've seen and this thing looks awesome. We went with a perfect bind and it is very, very nice. Slick UV coated cover does well to compliment this very good book. Peter did a class A job laying it out and all new art to boot (Peter has been VERY, VERY busy) and of course Casey has done his usual bang up job!
Oh yeah, I cut the price back to $9.99 as Peter tightened the layout and cut some pages. HUZAH for PETER.
Buy this guy today!

I found the same typo and asked about it elsewhere on the forum. The spell is: Call Vampire, Necromancer Level 8
Otherwise, great book. The spells are worth the price of the book, as are the undeadies (a really nice collection of them). Having both is awesome. Peter's artwork is great, as always.
Boys and girls, this book has some pretty good stuff that you can use in just about any campaign.
Despite the differences in size and cost, "The Black Libram of Nartarus" compares very favorably with "Heroes of Horror" and "Libris Mortis."
