TROLLCON VI & WINTER DARK

06/01/08: Out summer blow out has passed like the Valkeryies upon the fields of the dead! And we are now turning out attention to the Lake Geneva Gaming Convention. This is our fourth annual event in the town that saw the birth of our industry. Its going to be a fun show, but also a sad one as our Friend and Mentor Gary will not be with us, but we’ll continue the game in his honor as he would definitely have wanted. Along with the Troll Lord himself, Stephen Chenault, you’ll be able to meet James Ward, Frank Mentzer, Tim Kask, Tome Wham and I believe that Ernie Gygax is making it out on Saturday. For more details check out the LGGC IV web page.

I hear word from Brian Kowalski (our web troll), that "thar's a change a coming" to our homepage... watch this space for details... (midweek or so).

WHATS NEW: This week Crusader Vol. 4,  No. 9 slipped on the ship date. It was supposed to head out the door on the 1st, but a sheer pin snapped in the Cutter and we were some days getting it repaired (Mark and Steve did the repairs themselves as they are want to do). Check the blog later this week for more details on that little adventure. But Crusader 9 is shipping this week to all points, distributors and subscribers and it will of course be at LGGC IV.

CONVENTION NEWS: Lake Genev Con IV is the focus of the party of course, but be sure to note that Troll Con VI is just around the corner. We’ve made tremendous progress on the CKG and plan to debut sample sections of it at that little event. Its being held in Little Rock, AR, check the Troll Con web page for all the details.

COMING SOON: C1 Shades of Mist has gone to Cory for editing and content. Once he’s done we’ll put a wrap on that book very quickly. We are hoping that it makes its debut at LGGC IV this week. Beyond that work continues on Lejendary Rules for All Players, now scheduled for a September release and on track for that. That books ad page will go up after LGGC IV. Essential Places and Lejendary Pantheons are on track for a GenCon release. And work on the Castle Keepers Guide is making tremendous progress. The planned promo at Troll Con is on schedule, and we are still hoping for a release at GenCon.

06/01/08: We have kick starting June, 2008 with three great events. First we are launching our 3rd Annual $10.00 sale. To get all the details click on the banner above and it will take you to a downloadable sheet with prices and shipping information. Its in word, excel and PDF so you should be able to view it easily. Please read the shipping information and only order from THAT list. Also we are releasing the FULL unabridged version of the C&C Players Handbook 3rd Printing in PDF format. We are shooting to have these links go live on RPGNow, Drivethru and Paizo on June 1st. And finally we are opening up Gary Gygax’s Castle Zagyg Upper Works for PRE-ORDERS. Follow the links (this items is NOT part of the 10.00 sale)!

WHATS NEW: This week Crusader Vol. 4,  No. 9 ships to distributors and subscribers. Look for it in your mail box soon! If you don’t subscribe you can order it now!

CONVENTION NEWS: Lake Genev Con IV is almost upon us. The fest begins at the Legion Hall on the evening of the 19th with the Porch Party. Check out the LGGC IV page for details. Please pre-register for the convention. Also, the Cove has opened up even more rooms for us, so if you need a plush place to stay then buddy up and give them a call!

COMING SOON: C1 Shades of Mist is on the chopping block and should be out soon. This is full of maps, new gods and encounter charts for the Darkenfold. Crusader Vol. 4, No. 10 is being worked over and should be turned over to layout in the first week of June. Davis has momentarily surrendered the Castle Keeper’s Guide to put the screws on A5 The Shattered Horn. Steve is busy at work on the Castle Keeper’s Guide. Also being worked over are Gary Gygax’s Lejendary Pantheons, Gary Gygax’s Essential Places and Lejendary Rules for All Players.

05/11/08:  Its been a hard work week here as we pound on the raw metal that is the Castle Keeper’s Guide.  Davis and Steve continue to flesh out sections that have long been in need of attention. There will be preview material available at Troll Con VI this year and more later in the month. Look for the pdf release of the C&C Players Handbook in the coming weeks and a small host of new product announcements.

WHATS NEW: There are no new releases this week as the Free RPG Day material has consumed much of our time here in the Dens. And Dro Mandras, though available has not yet shipped. Expect a general Press Release next week with more information on that title. Crusader 9 is in the wraps and set for printing next week.

CONVENTION NEWS: Lake Geneva Gaming Convention is just around the corner. Be sure to pre-register before the show. Lots of open gaming with boards games and RPGs. Steve will run special sessions of C&C wherein you must pit your characters against the Troll Lords! Gencon too, is not far down the pipe. We are planning on a number of new releases at Gencon as well as a few surprises  . . .  is that box brown?

COMING SOON: Shades of Mist is taking center stage at long last. As that project preps for final printing we’ll turn our attention back to the CKG and Crusader 10. Upper Works and Lejendary Rules for All Players are both in the final stages of completion. Look next week for more product information on The Black Libram from Casey Christofferson for C&C.

04/30/08: This year we are launching two separate books for Free RPG Day. Foremost up is a streamlined version of our favorite role playing game Castles & Crusades Quick Start 2008. This book is a little lighter on the rules and includes an abridged three page adventure from Stephen Chenault Dwarven Glory II: Worm Well. This adventure, free in the print product only, will be available in in an unabridged pdf later this month. We are also doing the StarSiege Event Horizon Introductory Manual 2008. This abbreviated manual will give all the taste one needs to build up a ravenous appetite for StarSiege Event Horizon this summer! We’ve also overhauled the Gygaxian Fantasy World series webpages. There were some problems with the listings and several of the titles are sold out. Be sure to check out the updates!

WHATS NEW: Available this week is Dro Mandras: The Free West. This is the fourth installment in Casey Christofferson’s Haunted Highland series. Crusader 8 continues to dominate our attention as well, as subscribers receive their copies and it makes the rounds in retail shops.

CONVENTION NEWS: We are gearing up for LGGC IV this summer. This convention is in just over a month so be sure to get your pre-registrations in. Tim Kask contacted us last week and let us know that he would be able to come to the show again this year and enjoy some good old fashioned chariot races. You certainly don’t want to miss any of that. Also in attendance: Frank Mentzer, Tom Wham and James Ward. We haven’t made arrangements yet, but we are quite sure Frank bring piles of sweet goodies for the show.

COMING SOON: We have put a wrap on Shades of Mist and it is off to the editor this week. The encounter chart needs some tweaking but that is about it. Crusader 9 is in final layout waiting only some content from Steve Chenault. And of course the aforementioned Free RPG day material for C&C and Starsiege Event Horizon. We have some exciting news on Lejendary Rules for All Players and a great new cover look we’ll debut in the next week or so. Be sure to check back often and visit us on the boards.

04/13/08:  Troll Con VI has found a home at last. We have booked a hall in Little Rock for July 18th - 20th. Be sure to hop over to the official Troll Con page and get all the latest information. Pre-registration is only $10.00!!  In other news Gary Gygax’s East Mark Folio sold out of the first printing but anticipating this the new folios should be here on the 15th or 16th. For those of you waiting for them we should begin shipping them mid week. Check back soon as we are working with Josh Chewning to bring you preview material for Starsiege Event Horizon.

WHATS NEW: There’s a flurry of activity around here as we finally release Crusader Vol. 4, No. 8. It shipped to distributors and subscribers on the 11th, so for those who are expecting them, keep an eye out. This issues was delayed to allow for some fond remembrances of Gary Gygax by myself, Frank Mentzer and James Ward.  Take a moment and be sure to check out the new covers for C2 Shades of Mist, DB4 Dro Mandras and Gary Gygax’s Teeth of Barkash Nour.

Also, we are releasing Engineering Dungeons and Crusader Vol. 3, No. 7 in PDF format. You can check those out at Drivethru RPG or RPGNow. They will go up on the Paizo site by the 15th.

CONVENTION NEWS: All the news and all our attention is focused on Troll Con VI right now. We hope you make it out to visit and game for awhile. The new location is very convenient for travelers, with plenty of places to eat and a fabulous movie theatre within 5 minutes. The Brothers Chenault, Mac Golden, Mark Sandy, Todd Gray, Casey Christofferson and Mike and Elizabeth Stewart will all be there. We hope you come out and join us.

COMING SOON: Work has already begun and all the articles have been turned in for Crusader Vol. 4, No. 9. We hope to have it out later in April or in early May. Also, we have made great strides on Shades of Mist and Dro Mandras. The former has at last gone to editing and the latter is being printed even now. Great strides have been made on the CKG and we are moving heaven and earth to have it out this summer. By accident some insight was gained on the C&C Basic set and some development made on that much anticipated Boxed set. And last, but certainly not least, the five manuscripts for Gary Gyagx’s Castle Zagyg Upper Works box set are being wrapped up. We are working on some preview material, but Gary was very particular on this score and we are trying to not offend his desires.
