Presented here, as written and compiled by Gary
Gygax, the Father of Fantasy Role Playing, are the preternatural
spirits and mighty lords of the deital sort who have shaped and
now order the entire world and all that is adjacent to it. Those
Gods, Goddesses, Demons, Devils, Fiends and Monsters that people
our imaginations are here laid out in an informative, useful and
easily accessible form. Mr. Gygax has gone to extraordinary lengths
to compile a complete list of the many varied pantheons of this
world and his own, all under the umbrella of his own Lejendary Earth.
The Lejendary Earth world setting has in its many lands a score
of important pantheons. They are divided into two classes, the major
and lesser. These are not necessarily historical mythological treatments.
They are specifically devised from such information so as to be
usable in any fantasy world setting. The useful details possible
to find in mythology have been included as part of the information
given herein. In those cases where such historical records are scanty,
Mr. Gygax has delved his own imaginative talents to furnish the
missing material.
These pantheons are divided into major and lesser groups. Major
pantheons, 14 in all, are both regional and global in nature. That
is, besides their recognition in states advocating a family of deities,
those same deities are known in other states, and there are found
places of worship for all, or at least some, of them in large towns
and cities outside their own states, possibly to even the most distant
continents. Lesser pantheons, six in number, are more isolated.
Then tend to be recognized mainly in a limited number of states
and a relatively isolated geographical area. However, in large cities,
it is quite possible that there will be found places of worship
for even the smallest of these families of deities.
Lejendary Pantheons includes all those pantheons you've come to
love, from the Tenroic (Teutonic) to the Vedsudic (Indian). People
your world with these Lejendary Pantheons and you'll find it a world
filled with divine wonders.
Lejendary Pantheons also includes a complete quick start rules set
for Lejendary Adventures and
maps for the Lejendary Earth of Gygax's own creation. |
