A Special Note From Troll Lord Games

It has been 8 long years since Islamic extremists attacked the United States; 8 long years since September 11, 2009. Myself, as well as everyone here at TLG, remembers that terrible day well. We remember watching the agonizing moments of the towers and playing witness to the deaths of thousands of people. It is truly a day that we cannot and should not forget.

It seems like an eternity has passed since then. It is an almost unreal sequence of events. But it is a sequence of events that led us to two wars, one in Iraq and a second in Afghanistan. It has brought and continues to bring the best and brightest of our citizens to the defense of this country.

These dedicated few have fought long campaigns in inhospitable terrain and against an enemy that is elusive, cunning and battle hardened. Though the war in Iraq has turned for the better and the surge saw the destruction of the enemy, that battlefield though quiet, continues to need the diligent attention of our soldiers and allies. The other, in the wilds of Afghanistan continues. Seemingly it is gaining momentum for our enemies have regained their footing, and press us hard.

But our soldiers and our allies continue to fight. It seems in a country obsessed with arguments and caught up in excessive hand wrangling that our troopers have been forgotten. Already I hear the familiar ring of “the forgotten war.” It is a bad, and old, habit for us to slip into.

But not all of us have forgotten the soldiers who continue to fight; many have shifted from the battle fields of Iraq to Afghanistan, and continue to hold the enemy at bay on contested ground. They fight the enemy there, so they cannot come here.

We have not forgotten.

I would like to continue to extend our hand in thanks to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces and those of our Allies and let them know that we continue to appreciate their extraordinary struggles.

But it is as important for us to recognize that as the war continues more of our brave young men and women suffer through battle field injuries. These soldiers, marines, airmen and naval personnel have given their all and paid a heavy price. TLG would like to direct your attention to some worthy charities that we can all support.

A call from our customers! We have not sent care packages in some time to any troops over seas and I would call to our community and to the Armed Forces to please put us in touch with anyone serving who thinks they could use a little entertainment so that we can donate the C&C game components to unit libraries and rec-centers whether in the dust of the desert or on the decks of ships.

We reaffirm our long standing offer to the men and women of the Armed Forces and extend it to VETERANS of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. And though we can do little to help from our end, we would like to offer all military personnel and veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars a 50% discount for any products purchased on or through our websites.  This includes registration for any of the three conventions we run.
