Re: What boardgame(s) are you playing?

Heat, Pedal to the Metal is the game most being played right now and the racing game I've been waiting for my whole life.

Second most played is Dice Throne. I have all the expansions including the latest Santa vs. Krampus and love mixing up the battles, pretty great game.

Re: Movie remakes that are actually good ?

Both versions of True Grit were good. Agreed. Ocean's Eleven. Though the original had its charm, I find the remake better. I am Legend. Though honestly all three films are pretty great. Can't beat Vincent Price in "Last Man on Earth" and "Omega Man" makes it slightly better. Wil...

Anyone interested in the Codex of Airdhe set with slipcase?

Never used, still in practically mint condition. Flipped through one book then the whole set has been in storage since. Really, really good deal. Preference given to my old friends on here, but open to everyone. It's been a while since I've looked at it but I'll try to include most things that came ...

3 Sisters

Just thought I'd pop in and say that I got the three core books, last week, and they are absolutely gorgeous. Too bad I'll never use them. I also would just like to thank Steve and the crew for sending them to me, they are good people. Hope you all are doing well, but no this doesn't mean I'm back, ...

A fond farewell and thanks.

Well reality has finally caught up to my expectations. My gaming "hobby" has been dead for a very, very long time and I've come to accept it is time to put it to rest and move onto something more fulfilling than what has seemingly turned into- buying books, flipping through them and puttin...

Re: New to C&C: Newbie questions

a) Does a character start with his/her max hp? Or do they have to roll? We rolled but we don't fancy a Paladin with 1 HP. It was pretty funny but it was also weird. I'll start by saying that C&C is very easy to house rule things, so most of those questions are easily handled by the DM putting i...

Re: Roku/Amazon Fire vs satellite TV

I don't have television at all. No cable or dish, just your basic free channels and haven't had them for years. If I do decide to plunge into television again I'm definitely going to buy Apple TV, which is the equivalent of Roku or Chromecast, due mostly to the fact that I can throw anything from my...

Please read... why the board was down yesterday

The TLG forum was down for a little bit yesterday and the reason was because phpbb was hacked and some forums that use phpbb was shut down for safety reasons. I mentioning this because it is being recommended to change your passwords on all affected forums. So, change your password! Here is the link...

Re: D&D 5th Edition Discussion

I don't think I'd buy the Lulu print of the Players D&D Basic Rules *, even stripped down as the PDF is there's still too much fluff in there for a really "basic" book. I assume the difference between the "full colour" and B&W versions is the same as the PDFs, i.e. the c...

What I take away from it is, creating a entirely new form of entertainment is not easy and it (mostly) gets better over time.

It'd be nice if it could get to the coloured level of pledging. I mean if TLG is going to go colour I'd like to see all lines go the same way. even though I adore the old b/w I seem to be in the minority these days.

Re: D&D 5th Edition Discussion

The actual accounts I have heard have 5e doing better than WotC planned. According to Chris Perkins they are already doing the 3rd printing of the 5e PHB because they sold out of the first two so quickly. *shrug* I want them to succeed because D&D is the flagship RPG with household name recogni...

Does the ability to have a "small swath of land to people with unique places, items and or NPCs to be included in the official Codex of Aihrde (subject to approval)" still apply? Only for the original pre-order and if you qualify then your good to go, but I need that asap. Almost no one s...

I'd like to see the coloured books published with black text. My sleep deprived mind skimmed this as reading "colouring book" and I had to read it again. Oddly that same mind went, "Cool!" Here's a quick question for you guys, and maybe it should be a poll... but what ...

*Googles* 8 bit art program. 16 bit art program. Personally I'd go with the 8 bit style. Not only would it be easier to do, but 8 bit computer games are having a renaissance right now. I've seen; The Escapist and a few other good games being put out by independent developers. I also like the look.

Re: Is there any point playing a non-wizard at higher levels

This has been a fairly recent conversation. I personally don't remember having these conversations in the 80's or 90's. (Though anecdotal evidence doesn't amount to a whole lot.) Personally, I think this has become a problem due to the drive to equality of characters through game mechanics and has t...

One of my friends had Car Wars back in the day. Can't remember if I ever got to play it. I was always interested in the material, and it looks like I'll have a chance to revisit the game. I never saw it back in the day. Bought the retro-edition. Very satisfying, and the price was right. For better or worse, I didn't buy the big version. I first played the pocket edition way back in the 1980's. Then graduated to the mini's set. One of the reasons I never got in on the Kickstarter was...

Re: Serious question for the Trolls -Are custom orders possi

Well I'll disagree that there is a viable market for customized books. The cost would obviously have to be more and people seem fine with the traditional way that you will not find that many people willing to add cost to something they can get cheaper. The other thing about POD's (Even short runs.) ...
