Re: Dice Bag

In one of my past groups if it was discovered that you didn't "earn" your Crown Royal bag by drinking the whiskey, everyone would razz you, and question your manliness. Girls were excluded from this rule because, they hit really hard, and it really, really hurts :D

Dice Bag

I recently found a Ravenloft dice bag I purchased at GENCON in 1995. It got me thinking about other dice bags I've had. Among them a Crown Royal, Greyhawk, and Bacardi Black. I wish I still had all of them along with my Killians sign that would light up, and the pirate flag I hung behind me when I g...

Re: campaign on Roll20

Last Sunday one of the players rolled 5 consecutive nat 1's. Luckily for him it was rolling for initiative. Everyone advised him to stay away from casinos. I added at least he was getting all of his crappy rolls out the way at the start of the campaign.

Re: campaign on Roll20

Yes I have. I just picked up four more players, I don't know if they came from Roll20, or from here. Guess it really doesn't matter. The response to C&C has been positive among the players. One of them is converting his campaign to C&C. (yes I have a character.)

Hope you and your group have a great time. Ravenloft is where I earned my reputation as DM who ran vicious undead, especially vampires. :D

Potions

Boffo the Fighter has a problem. In the last dungeon his party explored he kept falling into pits. Besides the wounds to his body, and pride, Boffo lost a Potion of Cure Serious Wounds, and a Potion of Haste when the glass vials that they were stored in broke. To keep this from happening again Boffo...

Re: Arduin C&C

In my second campaign as a D.M. a player gave me a copy of the Arduin critical hits & fumbles tables with the words. "You gotta us this in the game!" A few sessions later after a bad encounter for the party, a player sitting next to that player punched him in the arm. First Player: &qu...

Re: Low-magic campaigns

On my campaign world I don't have magic shops out in the open. but made the buying and selling of magic items more or less an underground market. Kinda of, "I know a gnome, who knows a guardsman, who has an uncle." approach. Of course, the more powerful the item the longer it took to find ...

Re: Rule system

I wish I had something to do with "Go fer yer Gun", but I didn't. With my game I'm trying to do what TLG did by focusing on the adventure, and not on min/maxing to create Super Characters. That being said, I still want players to be able to create PCs that they will enjoy playing. :)

Rule system

Years ago I designed a western rpg. The major problem with it was I couldn't get the rules to gel like I wanted. Then I discovered C&C and the Siege Engine. Here was a system that made playing the game a priority once more. This was awesome to an old gamer like myself. Here are my questions. (1)...

Party Treasure

Does anyone allow "Party" treasure in their campaign? I have in the past, but have insisted magic items, and other important articles be assigned to PCs or NPCs in the party. I've also had a party's pack animal wander off from time to time. :)

A better encumbrance system. It's the one thing I don't like about C&C.

My House Rule: Starting at 3rd level Assassins can pick up the Open Locks ability. In order to do this the character must find a Rogue that's at least two levels higher than the Assassin. Training cost is 100 g.p. per level of the Rogue. Training takes 2d4 weeks. At the end of this period the Assass...

I'm trying to start a C&C group in Ft.Smith, but I can't seem to break the D&D, Pathfinder hold on players in the area. I've been a GM since 1981,and I've tried every trick short of paying people to play. If anybody has some ideas please let me know. :?
